“I was dreaming about you,” Dennis whispers in the dark, and feels Michael’s chest rise slightly.
“Go back to sleep, love.”
Everything is the same, except that Dennis never moved to Pittsburgh; instead, he’s studying to become a doctor in his small rural town, where doctors are always needed because everyone leaves to go to bigger cities. So, at the end of the second season, Robby leaves. He’s depressed, still has suicidal thoughts, and has three months to decide what to do. Jack has told him to come back safe and sound and that he doesn’t want to get any calls from some godforsaken place in the middle of nowhere with bad news.
But Jack does get that call.
Not as an emergency contact. But as his best friend. Because it’s Robby calling him from a small town in the middle of nowhere -Broken Bow, Nebraska- and telling him he’ll return at the end of his sabbatical, but only to pack up his things and move away.
Apparently, Robby has found a cute doctor (half his age) who’s worth turning his life upside down for.

A follower of mine asked me this months ago, now I found the time to do it X’D Soulmates AU when you have the name of your soulmate’s on you wrist <3
Yep, Merlin has terrific eyesight, but it is also fortunate that Merlin is an uncommon name uwu
“He still at least wears Pendragon red though. Maybe it’s alri– nope, he burned it. Nevermind, you’re fucked, princess.”
Some context. Lately I’ve been obsessed with burn, butcher, burn and since I’m also obsessed with Merlin (you don’t say) I thought about a crossover. So, Arthur and Merlin are attacked by bandits in the forest, Merlin is forced to use magic, and Arthur witnesses it all. Arthur is angry, disappointed, hurt etc and banishes Merlin, leaving him alone in the forest and returning to Camelot. The problem is that Merlin is also angry, because after everything he’s done for Arthur he’s banished, really? So, fuck destiny, fuck the stupid dragon and his stupid prophecy but, mostly, fuck Arthur Pendragon. Merlin leaves and doesn’t look back. It takes Arthur less than 24 hours to figure out he screwed up and goes looking for Merlin. Well, he is not amused by what he finds but he knows he deserves it. At first Merlin refuses to go back, but Gwaine’s jokes and Arthur’s pleading eyes (and his apologies) convince him. (That and the patrons begging him to leave. Jaskier may be good at singing but Merlin not so much) Also: “I hear you’re alive, how disappointing I’ve also survived, no thanks to you Did I not bring you some glee Mister, oh, look at me Now I’ll burn all the memories of you“
I just wanted to say that Merlin seems very confident here, but if Arthur has Gwen to talk to, Merlin has Gwaine. “He’s so hot I can’t get a word out, I can only say hello when i see him! Don’t laugh, Gwaine! You should be my friend!” Thank you to Exited_Insomniac for checking that everything was right <3 <3
When I saw this post I asked @gaiussleechtank if I can do a comic about it and they said yes, so here we are. X’D Thank you Sophie for the quick check on the grammar <3
Happy Pride month, everyone! From @nuttersinc prompt “Pride parade, after party, meet cute, snogging or more, fluff, teen to explicit” on The Merlin Library Discord
@merlinpride
Yesterday I had my first re-watch of Merlin and in the meantime I draw this. Because he's my precious little bean and he must be protected.
Why NO-ONE protected him?
every night I fantasize about dennis and robby meeting during their shift in a quiet place and comforting each other AGGHHH..
Hucklerobby AU Prompt
Before becoming a manager for actors and models, Robby began his career like many of his colleagues: as a model. He walked the most famous runways, flew all over the world, and did things he later regretted -pushed by so-called friends- as well as things he felt particularly proud of when he became determined to change his life.
This is also one of the reasons why Robby knows what kind of life his clients are almost always forced to endure; he knows how that life can ruin you in more ways than one, and he has decided to protect all his clients with all his might.
But there is one in particular whom Robby never takes his eyes off for a second.
Dennis Whitaker is young, inexperienced, comes from a remote rural town God knows where, and although he isn’t conventionally attractive, his gift of gab, his smile, and the way he struts down the runway enchant everyone who sees him.
And that’s why Robby never lets him out of his sight.
Because Dennis is too good, too pure. And Robby has no intention of letting anyone get close enough to Dennis to change things. He’s protective of the kid. He’s super protective of the kid. But Dennis doesn’t seem to have a problem with it.
+++
And Dennis really doesn’t have any problems. Because even though he’s just a kid from a small town in the middle of nowhere, Dennis knows exactly how to stand up for himself. He may have the face of an angel, but he knows exactly how to land a solid punch if someone bothers him, and he can tell right away when someone has bad intentions. But Dennis adores seeing Robby lose his temper with someone who seemed to be bothering Dennis. He adores seeing how Robby moves closer to him when a coworker or acquaintance he doesn’t trust looks at Dennis a little too long. But most of all, he adores it when Robby rests a hand between his shoulder blades or on his shoulder and, on rare occasions, on his hip.
Dennis adores Robby. And when he found out that many years ago Robby had also walked the runway as a model (something that didn’t come up right away when he hired him but several months later), he rushed to look for photos from the runway shows (and almost died of shock. He saved all the photos to the Cloud and isn’t ashamed to admit he looks at them every day) and bought every magazine about it on eBay or Vinted.
Dennis has also decided to use all his charm to win over his grumpy teddy bear manager.
+++
Bonus point:
Robby is still being asked to walk the runway, and when Dennis finds out, he goes to watch every show. When Robby notices this, he has a front-row seat reserved for him and lets him backstage before the show begins.
Needless to say, Dennis drools all over himself at every show the moment he sees Robby. (Some inspo: LINK LINK (when he sees Dennis)- LINK )
When Robby comes home from work, he’s used to hearing the deafening silence of his -frankly, too-big- apartment, used to thinking about what to do with his life for the next few hours before going to bed, waiting for the alarm to go off the next day so he can go to work and finally be a useful person.
But it hasn’t been like that since Dennis came along.
Now, when neither of them has the day off, they come home together, and Dennis’s constant chatter keeps him company and distracts him from all the dark thoughts he used to have without much trouble.
If Dennis has the day off, Michael comes home and, as he opens the door, the notes of some funk song greet him with Dennis dancing in the kitchen while he’s preparing something for dinner, and Robby can’t help but smile, and every dark thought flies out the window (especially when Dennis stops singing at the top of his lungs and notices Robby in the kitchen doorway, arms crossed as he leans against the doorframe watching him with a smile, and then Dennis smiles one of those radiant smiles that makes Michael’s stomach twist despite all those months of living together, and he goes to greet him with a kiss and a hug and showers him with questions)
And the nights aren’t so sleepless anymore. Not when Dennis collapses on top of him, snoring softly, and Michael feels Dennis’s weight on his chest and, for some reason, feels safe, protected.
Robby finds himself smiling, at peace.
Things don’t always go smoothly; sometimes bouts of depression are unavoidable. But he no longer has to face them alone, because Dennis refuses to leave him by himself.
And Robby, from the bottom of his heart, is grateful for every moment he spends with Dennis.
