"I… studied. And worked at a bar, where I also played. What about you? What do you usually do here?"
"I do some college courses, I usually just hang around with a few friends, I do a lot of working out."
"And here I am. Enough hiding your smile, Parks and Recreation. You’re too old for that shit."
"I'm twenty two, I'm plenty young enough."
"Yet, we’ve been talking about me and I don’t think I share the same opinion as you do." With a shrug, he took a sip from his iced tea and leaned back against his seat. "But if talking about me will make you stay chatting with me, then, by all means… ask away."
"Well.. what did you do in New Orleans? Surely you didn't just party your days away as amazing as it does sound." She asked curously with a perk of her brow.
"Maybe whoever said that was onto something." Caleb found it amusing as she rolled her eyes at him. "I wouldn’t know." He responded as he picked up the wolfsbane for her.
"Lucky you, I'm sure it's nice not having something you are 'allergic' to," she quipped with a slight smirk before picking up the charm she had just set. "What can it hurt to believe in something." She spoke, setting it on the counter as well.
"Whoever made these should be given an award!"
"I figured I would find you over here."
This carnival games may be rigged but they are still fun.
"I see." He nodded once, raising his hands in a defensive way, before resting them on his lap again. "But why? You’re such a good topic… In… a non-creepy way, of course."
"Well I don't think I'm such a good topic, perhaps you will be...in a non-creepy way," she retorted with a grin.
Someone has to be, right?
Although I think Eli might fit that bill, too.
It's only hard on you because he cares.
"Strange how our minds have such power over an inanimate object." Caleb watched as she placed the charm back wondering if he just lost a sell. When she picked up the wolfsbane, he forced back his rather entertained smirk. "Are you okay ma’am? Do you want me to grab that for you?"
"Our minds can either be our strength or our demise, I read that somewhere," she retorted before rolling her eyes at his teasing. "I always seem to forget how much it burns."
Being a lycan doesn’t necessarily mean a good interesting, though.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Ben.
Oh, well… I didn’t know that…
I’m not very interesting, though. You might like people watching better.
You're apart of my pack Ben, you're plenty interesting.
"You don’t have to be anything you’re not feeling up to.” Sophia then, shrugged, pulling her hair over one shoulder. “You don’t have to look stronger because you’re female. No one can handle it, supernatural or not. There’s only much that we can take before it becomes overwhelming.” Huh, perhaps there was a reason why she had always wanted to become a therapist, but now she didn’t know exactly why. “It’s okay to feel vulnerable. It doesn’t make you weak.”
Parker smiled softly, nodding along with Sophia's words before looking over at her with a perk of the brow. "You ever take your own advice?"
"You know…" He then glanced up to the waitress who had brought his sweet iced tea and her glass of water, thanking her with a smile, before turning back to look at Parker. "If you wait for too long, you might not go anywhere. Life’s short and this is a goddamn horrible world not to be out there, doing whatever you want to do." Life was too short for other people. For Reese? Not so much.
Parker nodded slowly, she knew he was right about it, life was far to short especially when you were a supernatural creature that is often enough hunted. However, she couldn't bare the thought of leaving, she clung to the last bit of family she had in Oakland. "I have people here who need me though and as selfish as I want to be, it's time I take some responsibility." She explained weakly. "Enough about me though."
Oh, no—yes—I mean—
We’re pack, but I figure that doesn’t mean you want to hang out with a high school kid most of the time. So, I just… hang out… and stuff…
Ben, literally all I do is hang around my house or come out into town and people watch. If I'm not doing either of those things then I'm training. You aren't the only one in need of friends.
Not… not really. School’s out, my friends are busy… Might as well make more money.
Are we not friends?
It’s alright though considering our height differences you should’ve seen me.
Distraction can disguise even the tallest of people.
"If you and your brother and sister are still alive, then no. It was not for nothing." This was easier… focusing on other people’s problems. Sophia reached forward and caressed the other girl’s arm. "It’s what I tell myself when I miss my aunt too much."
Parker nodded slightly before smiling weakly. "I'm not used to being the vulnerable one, in a pack full of male werewolves I have to usually be the strong one, the logical one. They don't even know all about what's been happening with my family."
