"was she um pink um rose happy?" Spinel is chilling out with Greg
@stretchy-therapist
"She was and if rose was still here I think she would want you to be happy too."
“Why don’t you and blue ever get punished or locked in a tower? It’s not fair that I’m the only one and why does white get to control everything.”
From Pink to Yellow Diamond
@i-just-want-to-be-a-real-diamond
"We don't get in trouble because we don't goof off and we do what we're ordered to do. If you were a little more obedient maybe we wouldn't have to punish you."
“No I don’t want to go back to the tower! It’s not fair! You guys don’t treat me like a real diamond! Nobody respects me, I’m not some runt. Im a diamond even though I’m not as tall as you guys.” Pink huffed and stomped her feet.
From Pink Diamond to One of the other diamonds
@i-just-want-to-be-a-real-diamond
"We can't always have what we want pink. You must take your punishment with dignity and grace. Like a proper diamonds. I've made too many excuses for you as is. We can't risk upsetting white you know that."
“Hello yellow pearl, is there something you needed from me?” Emerald asked, not used to seeing the diamonds pearl, wondering if there was a task that needed to be done and hoped that her presence wasn’t needed in yellow diamonds presence because she was scary.

(OC-Emerald)
'My diamond requests your presence immediately. It sounds pretty important. I didn't get the details but if I were you I'd prepare myself accordingly." Her diamonds was more so known for giving scoldings but she could also respect and appreciate hard work.

"I think everything about humans is extraordinary. Even more so when you have something that makes you that much more different." Human beings were so different when it came from person to person. They weren't put in boxes the way gems were. Rose gave an eager nod at his question. "I've met so many over the few thousand years I've been on earth." Some were her friends more likely than not she picked out various human lovers to play with. "I love humans! You're all so beautiful and funny and extraordinary in your own unique way."

She chuckled at his nervousness. Offering the boy a small smile as she took his hand in hers. Giving him a friendly handshake. Her hand seemed so much bigger than his. "It's very nice to meet you dipper." The gem hummed in thought. Nodding her head yes before taking a seat on the ground. Her curls bouncing as she did so. "I don't see why not. I am pretty free today. Ask away."
She continues to explain, he continues to write, filling one page, and then two, taking care to draw the gemstone to the best of his ability and make note of the fact that they were primarily holographic projections, and shapeshifters, and contained other unique properties like the ability to heal. If he had to guess, it was probably the weak spot, too. Aim for something life force and you extinguish the flame type of deal. Made him wonder why it was so... out in the open? Maybe they drew energy from the sun or something.
So there was a reason behind the variety! According to his understanding, gems had jobs... depending on, what, their hardness? Harder stones would protect, weaker stones would stay behind? It's just an educated guess, he wasn't really all that knowledgeable about stones in the first place.
Although, when she started talking about how they went about making gems via hallowing out the Earth, depleting natural resources, and killing off life his pen stilled, and looked up at her with a frown.
She'd started a rebellion with other gems to protect the planet, but he'd never even heard it mentioned online, in any book, or referenced in a movie? That seemed... odd?
"But... how has nobody noticed?" With the amount of alien conspiracies and cover-ups, the government should have at least had the gems on their radar, right? Unless they already did, and this was all just the tip of the iceberg? Was it brought up by people who weren't believed and labeled crazy? Is he going to be that person? At least Great Uncle Ford would believe him. Heck, he'd probably think of questions Dipper hadn't even considered once they got together and went over his notes.
As cool as this whole thing was, he had sort of a.... a bad feeling about it.
"And... why did you pick Gravity Falls? I mean, I know this town sort of attracts weirdness but... don't you think Roswell, New Mexico would have been more, I don't know, on theme?"
"I mean they probably have. It isn't like gems just popped up on earth overnight or that the rebellion was recent. It took place over six thousand years ago. Back when humans were still living in caves. Back then humans had more important things to worry about. Like hunting for their food and taking care of their families." That's right she never did explain the timeline thing or how age and time worked with gems.
"Gems are ageless beings. Unlike humans and animals we can't die from old age. The only thing that can kill us is shattering our gemstone." She said tapping at her one with a faint clicking noise. "I mean we travel all over earth really it isn't just gravity falls. We go wherever the trouble is or just pick somewhere random to explore. When they first started building a colony on earth to deplete their resources they settled in korea."
She wouldn't mention pink diamond or diamonds in general so not to overwhelm him but also she had never liked talking about her past self only when it was necessary. "The homeworld gems as a last ditch effort to win against us or even just to hurt us for fighting back at all their leaders set off this sonic attack. Which corrupted a majority of our own soldiers. Our own friends. With my shield I was able to protect my closest friends garnet and pearl but the rest of the crystal gems were hit with the blast. It didn't kill them but left them corrupted. Turned them into monsters. "
She spoke with sadness and grief both in her tone and in her expression. "Garnet uses her future vision to find out where they are all over earth. A few were spotted here in gravity falls. It's why we originally came here. It's our job to find them and poof their forms. Poofing the gem doesn't kill them but has them retreat into their gemstone to heal. We take their gemstone and encase them in a bubble and send them back to our base. We keep them safe there until hopefully one day we can find a cure to bring them back to their old selves."
"Hey, do you... need a ride?" Young Stan for Rose
"Not particularly but I'd like to ride with you anyway. You seem like you'd be fun."

Oh my gosh. Out of everything that happened this summer, shaking hands with an alien might just be one of the coolest. He grins, widely, staring down at the sheer size difference of their hands.
"Y-you mean it?" She's going to answer all of his questions, too? He better start asking them before he passes out from hyperventilating.
"Okay!" He retrieves the journal from the depths of his jacket and flips to a blank page near the back. Putting pen to paper, he starts pacing again, speaking aloud as he writes, "Aliens in Gravity Falls; more fact than fiction." And here comes the barrage of questions, as promised.
"Where did you come from? How did you get here? Are aliens this.... pink?"
She giggled again. She found dipper's excitement quite adorable. "You know your interest in aliens is quite like my interest in human beings. You know I've journaled about your species too." She commented before answering his questions. It was quite funny that they both so curious and either when it came to each other's species.
"Alright gem kind originated from a planet called homeworld." She answered simply with a nod. "Not me however. You see gems are made using the resources of a planet. They use these drills to dig deep into the ground. When we're fully formed we pop out knowing who we are and what we're supposed to do." She frowned at that. Wouldn't dive into it now. She didn't wanna overwheIm the boy.
"I didn't come from homeworld. I was actually made here on earth. Gem kind they wanna build a massive empire. Make as many gems as possible to expand their influence and power. So gems are made on countless different planets. I was just lucky enough to be made on such a lovely planet full of life and beauty." She hummed before shaking her head.
"Gems have many different types." She pointed at her gemstone. "See this? This is my gemstone. A rose quartz. That's what makes me pink. There are several other pink gems but also blues, yellows and all colors of the rainbow really. If you've seen a gemstone there's a version of it that's a living gem. An alien like myself."
He's hanging onto every word as she explains, writing down the most important parts in the journal and underlining them, only looking up infrequently to nod along.
A whole world that they didn't even know about? Aliens that originated from Earth, or more specifically, holes drilled into the ground like little burrows? Knowing exactly what they're supposed to do the moment they're born? Empires that spanned across the universe? All of those aliens movies he'd watched as a little kid had nothing on this!
"Wow, I never thought I'd meet an alien. Let alone one that's so... eager to be interviewed. This is awesome!"
And, naturally, brought up even more questions! She shows him her gemstone, and he gasps, leaning in to get a better look at it.
"Whoa, I can see myself in it!"
Wait, every gemstone has a real-life alien counterpart? But what would an alien race need so much variety for? She did say that they knew what they were going to do the second they were born.
"So, what do you do, then? The gems I mean?" It isn't meant to be a pointed question. She'd been nothing but open and hopefully honest. He just hoped the answer wouldn't be what he thought it was... you know... amassing an army to conquer the world?
His excitement was so admirable. "A gem's gemstone contains everything that they are." She knew he didn't ask that sort of question but she was pretty excited to give him as much information on the gem species as she could. He just seemed so happy to learn. "Our bodies are just a hologram projected from our gem except you know with mass. That's how you were able to shake my hand." She said with a laugh. "Our gemstones also house our unique powers."
"For each gem type they have different special powers but we all can float and shape shift but our colors don't change I'm afraid. I'm a quartz so I was made with super strength, fighting skills and I can heal others with my tears."
"Well each gem had a different purpose. Pearls were servants and gems like quartzes and rubies were made to fight. The gem race how they ran things. What they were made for. Their cause wasn't good I'm afraid." She said with a sigh. Hoping that she could explain things enough that she wouldn't come off as the bad guy. Although she knew from certain angles she could definitely be seen that way given who she used to be.
"In order to make gems they would suck up a planet's resources. Gems would be made but the process would leave the land dead. When I was made and I came into being I fell in love with the earth. It was so beautiful. So full of life. Human beings and all other organics they could learn and grow. Decide who they were moment to moment." She spoke in awe. Stars shining in her eyes.
"Homeworld thought it was no big deal hollowing it out. As if the life here meant nothing. I couldn't stand for what was being done so me along with a group of gems fought to protect this planet. We called ourselves the crystal gems and fought in the rebellion to save life on earth. So now the only gems who remain on earth are ones sworn to protect the life here."
She smiled trying to lighten the mood. "When I'm not doing that I like to explore the planet. I collect treasures and read up on the experience of human beings and other organics. I just love everything about your planet."

"Rose." The quartz once again decides to repeat the words spoken to her. The little amethyst had been alone pretty much all her life so socialization would be a slow progress. At the very least she could understand her. She nodded before grasping onto rose's hand. Leading her down the kindergarten before eventually reaching her exit hole. Which she climbed inside of. "Here. This is home."
Rose allows herself to be led by the little Amethyst through the ravines of the kindergarten. for the first time in centuries, Rose sees the the place as she first did : as a source of life. true, her colony's activities had stolen all future possibility of life or growth in this area, but if even one good thing could have come from it, maybe it was worth it after all.
when they arrive, Rose kneels down to observe the hole into which Amethyst had crawled. in all honesty, she doesn't know much about kindergartening, but simply given how close the exit is to the ground, it's no wonder this quartz is so small.
❛ how wonderful, ❜ she whispers to herself. an entirely new form of life! a wonderful little surprise. only on earth . . . ❛ how long have you been here? ❜
Amethyst climbed out of her hole. Continuing to crawl on all fours up until she reached a large boulder which sat near her exit hole. She pointed at it. The large rock having tally marks drawn all over it. Grunting as she used her back to lift it up showing even more marks at the bottom. "I stopped counting when rock ran out."
