Images that may come to your head are cups of steaming hot tea to soothe a sore throat or a child curled up under a blanket taking the day off of school But what about this A teenage girl ripping out her hair as she sobs, hating herself Sick A teenage boy scribbling down notes he wants to leave for his family after he takes his own life Sick A grown man turned to a quivering mess at the sound of thunder he could swear was gunshots Sick A child sitting in a brightly lit room, mind racing unable to focus however they may try, the teacher will scream at them later Why is mental illness ignored? Given not so much as a glance, we tell people to “Get over it.” “It’s in your head.” As if they aren’t even Sick.

I just read your one shot where an ofc kisses Charlie in front of the guys and it was fantastic. I was so immediately pulled into the story that I completely forgot the title and was actually taken by surprise when the kiss happened. Great writing!

So gentle. Obviously I didn’t know him in person but the way he didn’t react in anger here seems to show a very kind spirit. I wish people wouldn’t joke about how he died. People wouldn’t joke about a firefighter who died in a fire. Steve was all about showing us that even dangerous animals deserve our admiration, respect, and even a sort of affection, and that was something worth doing, even if he seemed goofy and silly sometimes.

I wanted to BE this man as a kid. I did. The world was so scary and he was always so excited about it all, I wanted to be excited too. I hate jokes about his death and how people talk about him like he was crazy. He was alive. He loved every single day he was on this planet and if that’s something people think is worth ridicule, then that just makes me feel sorry for them.
