Red John is MINE

I'm attempting to go through every episode of The Mentalist and prove that Patrick Jane is Red John. I am severely behind so don't hate on me.

Episode Thirty-One - His Red Right Hand

*insert Spongbob title card that reads "Three Years Later"*

So Red John has Rebecca steal the newly discovered body and DNA samples so the cops can't find the evidence that would lead to him. A couple days later, Red John has her kill Bosco and his team so that Jane can get the case back.

Jane and Rebecca have a nice chat about the psychology of Rebecca and Red John and the similarities between Jane and Red John. Lots of good stuff here to use later.

Red John then has Rebecca killed. Bosco tells Jane a secret and then dies.

Jane has the Red John case back.

This is a useful episode.

Jane leaves his team celebrating Bosco's life to go to Bosco's office. He looks in a box marked "Red John" like he's starting in on the case again. End of episode.

Keep an eye on Jane. If he screws up too bad, shoot him. There's not a court in the land that would convict you.

Bosco: Red John makes mistakes. This proves it. You will catch him.

Jane: Yes I will.

Bosco: Do me a favor. When you catch him, don't arrest him. Kill the son of a bitch.

Jane: That's the plan.

Bosco: Listen. Listen.

*Jane leans in*

*Bosco whispers something we don't hear then dies.*

Rebecca is being led away by officers. She smiles as another officer walks toward them. He rubs something green on her hand and she falls over and dies.

Jane hears it over the radio and rushes to the scene. He notices she was poisoned and slams his fist on the wall.

*Rebecca is handcuffed to a chair* *Jane smirks at her* *They just sit there staring at each other* Rigsby: How long they gonna sit there? Minelli: Shhhh.

Night shift coroner's description of "Agent Rojo":

"Dark hair, not that tall, kind of dumpy, olive complected. Wore these heels that clicked."

"A woman?" -Cho

"Wore a thing - A what's it? - in her hair."

"Barrette?" -Jane

Cut to Rebecca (Bosco's short, dark-haired secretary) in heels with a barrette going into Bosco's hospital room.

There is a flashback to her hiding a silencer in a basket. In Bosco's office, Bosco is asked if he's heading to Cloverville. He says after he briefs Jane. Rebecca enters and shoots them all. She says "Red John says hi."

Back in present day, Rebecca pulls a silencer on Bosco, wants him to wake up and see her shoot him again, Lisbon and Grace stop her.

Back at CBI, Grace figures out that someone switched all the security footage to older feeds.

That takes some knowledge, skill, and access to CBI.

So they get to the coroner's office in Cloverville and the coroner says the body was well preserved and they could run a full DNA kit.

Cho says they need someone watching the place until they move the body up to Sac.

Coroner looks for body and it is missing.

"That's... weird." says coroner. "Yea, it is. Where's the body doc?" says Jane without pause.

Coroner checks the log and says someone from CBI already picked up the body. Agent Rojo. 2:15 am the night before Bosco and his team were attacked.

Jane: Killing Carter Peak wasn't Red John's M.O. He was a man killed with his wife, his body was removed from the scene. It is unlike any of Red John's 14 other murders. Maybe Carter returned unexpectedly. Maybe there was a struggle. So Peak's body resurfaces, Red John hears about it somehow, and it upsets him. A: how does he hear about the body?

Grace: Off the bulletin I guess. It was state-wide.

Jane: And B: why does it upset him?

Cho: There's evidence on Carter Peak's body. That's why he tried to make it disappear.

Jane: Damning evidence. Like DNA. We got to get to Cloverville.

*Jane enters the CBI office*

Grace: Is Lisbon with you?

Jane: No. What's going on?

Cho: We got a hit on Bosco's cell phone records. Just before the attack Bosco called a cop down in Cloverville, not far from Stockton. Cop told me when they tore down and old strip mall last week they found a body buried in the foundation.

Jane: Body?

Grace: The cop who posted the bulletin said he got a call from Bosco saying he'd go and check it out.

Jane: What body?

Grace: This one. *pulls up x-ray on screen* Cloverville P.D. emailed a copy of the x-rays. John Doe, 30s. See here? His head was almost cut off. Vicious. Then there's this: *changes to a second x ray*

Jane: What's that?

Grace: His leg.

Jane: He's missing a leg?

Cho: Coroner told the cop it was not part of the attack. "A much earlier amputation." he said. Distinctive.

Grace: The files we got from Doctor Morning's office? This matches an x-ray we found there.

Jane: Carter Peak. Carter Peak, retired army, lost his right leg during the first gulf war.

Cho: We found the missing Red John victim.

Jane: *excited* Better still. This is Red John's mistake. This is it. He made a mistake and this is it.

Doctor: What the- Did you touch that machine?

Jane: *nonchalantly* No.

Kimball Cho is Red John. He has to be, otherwise this show is crap. period.

That’s certainly an interesting theory… Any particular reason why you think it would be crap if Cho isn’t Red John?

I’m behind on this season so if there’s anything I have missed, do tell. :) I’ll discuss any Red John theory (I just prefer the Patrick Jane one for the purposes of this blog).

Just from knowing psychology and logic, yes. Con men (and women) manipulate people with no remorse and that's the general description of a sociopath... And since Jane is making a statement that all great con men are sociopaths, he as a con man would be a sociopath.

I hope that made sense. :0)

(And sorry to all for not updating this blog... I got busy with school and forgot about it. Oops.)

There are hundreds of posts around the internet theorizing that Patrick is Red John. And EVERY single fucking one of them fails to account for the unknown man that was wearing the rubber mask in the season 2 finale, while Jane was tied up by the Red John impersonators.

Okay, I'm going to start my re-watch and evidence-gathering soon. When I get to this episode, I will write my thoughts and post it. I sort of have an idea right now but that was awhile ago so I'll need to refresh my memory.

By the way, I'm sorry I stopped posting on here. I got super busy when I actually made friends in the "real world". I should stop giving myself projects to do... xD

This website is a great idea for the watchers. I know people who do not even have television, but they watch the Mentalist on DVD or on tv down at the pub. Great opportunity understand this v complex drama.

I respect that you have your own opinions and everything, but until you post your entire theory on why you believe this, I will continue to be angry at this blog.

But so far all this blog is doing is posting quotes and screencaps. You can always ignore the URL if it makes you angry... But I understand that I have not posted in awhile or, more importantly, posted why I think he is Red John. I am working it out, there's a lot to say, and I still need all the evidence and I have barely gotten through gathering from season two. Have patience, yea? :)
