haha first time posting about my original stories, kinda nervous.
Anyway. ATEMPORAL ARCADE!!!!!!
The atemporal arcade is a gameshow that's been broadcasting across the multiverse! It exists in a pocket dimension that is (as the name implies) outside of any sort of linear time!
The premise of the show is simple! Six contestants compete in a series of challenges and games, competing against each other or sometimes in teams to earn "tickets"
Tickets can be used at the prize counter to purchase all sorts of prizes and even power ups and tools that can help them win future games!
But the ultimate prize, the hardest one to get is, of course, the divinity spark! A divinity spark is a rare item that will let it's wielder alter anything, and I do mean anything about their dimension.
The winner get's to return home with their prizes. The losers dimension will be erased from existence entirely. So better get those tickets quickly!
Because the show is so recognizable across dimensions, contestants appearances and names are temporarily altered to fit the aesthetics of the Arcade dimension, so that they will not be recognized by anyone back home, for their own safety. The winner will return to normal when they go home.

I think I wear my inspiration on my sleeve lol. But this concept is primarily inspired by TADC, Squidgame, and shovelware brain games. I've taken inspiration from a few other odds and ends places too.
The pocket dimension the show takes place in is very 80's-90's arcade aesthetics with liminality in the mix, but I take a lot of 2000's inspiration too.
Honestly if you want a good idea of the aesthetic I think the pinterest board does it best for now and also goes nicely with the playlist I made
Anyway, let's meet this seasons contestants!
Meet Popper!
A comic kitty cat with enough confidence to give a whale anxiety! Stakes be damned, she brings and chill attitude to the competition that's hard to beat. Win or lose, Popper's got something good to say about it, and a deceptively simple plan to make a comeback in her back pocket. Good luck harshing her mellow
Designation 30rz01. But he has given us permission to simply call him "Borzoi".
Borzoi is actually a robot in his home dimension as well, where he claims an AI uprising has taken place, and he is very open to discussing his intentions for being here. Borzoi intends to return home with the divinity spark so that he can use it to eradicate all organic life from his world and let robots live in peace. He isn't terribly keen on all the other contestants being organics, but at least he can see the logic in being a good sport until the game has ended (most of the time)
He seems to have an especially hard time putting up with Popper.
This is Vinny!
About as Earnest as they come. Vinny is betting a lot on this game and he's trying his very best, not just on the game itself, but on not letting himself get disheartened either. Win some lose some, just trying his very best! and no, he *doesn't* want to think about everything that he'll lose if he doesn't succeed. He just needs to focus on winning so that he never has to think about it. Don't panic.

She tends to keep her cards close to her chest. Which is shame because she also seems to know the most about the games. She's a long time fan, having watched every season of atemporal arcade, and she's very familiar with some of the more recuring games. She even went through the extra trouble of designing a custom outfit based on her favorite segment for her avatar. She's horrible at team challenges, preferring to do everything herself and often making her teammates suffer for it.
And here we hae Pryce!
Pryce is athletically... not the best. He believes that what he lacks in physical prowess, he can make up for with intellect and strategy. He's certainly the most rational player of the season, often being the hapless voice of reason standing between the more eccentric players. He's the best contestant to have on a team game, as he's very effective at organizing people into a plan based on their strengths. Although some of the others think he can kind of a stick in the mud, and loses almost every single player challenge he's in.
And last but not least is Sashimi!
Sashimi has been training for months for this! While she's not much of a TV watcher, her husband has visited the arcade pocket dimension a few times before, so she's familiar with one or two challenges and understands the gist. She's hardcore competitive! All stamina and power, very little planning or foresight! Pretty great at trash talking too!
One could almost be fooled into thinking she doesn't care about the stakes, and is just in it for the love of the game.
Of course... There's still one very important character left...

She's been running this show (and the dimension) for it's entire run! Always smiling for the camera, drumming up new prizes, new challenges, and new players every season! You know her! You love her! What more is there to say?
That's all I have for now! But I hope to make more out of this eventually, I have a lot in my head haha.
It's that time of year again- come meet me on the battlefield here! I'm on team Comedy this year. I don't really know how active I'll be able to be, but I'll do my best >:]
sometimes I am struck by the urge to talk about The Characters. but then I just make a variety of Noises and fail to come up with anything coherent so they just sit in my brain.
then sometimes I rotate them and come up with the most insane crossovers ever. elaboration below the cut...
ok so. I was thinking about the eyepocalypse and the part with all of the cameras in the city(?) area and then I was like ha ha you know who else looks at people through cameras and then had to sit there for a few moments. AND THEN I was like hm. Secunit and Perihelion.... Eye-related stuff.... that reminds me... and then remembered there was more Malevolent content I needed to listen to so that was actually a really bad elaboration wasn't it.
sorry the adhd is getting to me. but yeah another crossover idea I may do absolutely nothing with or I may become hyperfixated on, place your bets
I’m back with more clarity folks, and as much as I want to shove the Characters in the same room together I have now begun thinking about a malevolent/tmbd au with Arthur as an augmented human and John as a partition of an advanced MI…
In particular maybe Arthur having ocular implants, which John takes over after being accidentally downloaded or smth…

the twelve+ week wait was worth it, I finally read Platform Decay!!! I loved it, the worst road trip Murderbot has ever been on. I do kinda wish we saw more of Three, but the tidbits of info we got about it were very fun.

I have Human/oid, Feral, Furry/Anthro, and dragon OCs, I'm begginer friendly and always comment on attacks I recieve AND this year I've made a hitlist (link on my profile!)
This year will be my second year participating and I'm very excited to draw everyone's OCs!! I'm most comfortable drawing humanoid characters but I'm happy to attampt other types, such as anthro or feral!

sometimes you will spend 30 minutes thinking about a character and you will expect to have something coherent to say by the end of that time but the best you can come up with is "they are sooooooo shaped they are so silly i love my blorbo"
