If you are staunchly anti-war, you might as well be anti-grass, or anti-air; you must understand that war is inevitable and unpreventable, and yet you so desperately fight against it. Why is that? Do you believe that you can defeat warfare?
brows furrow together for a short moment , cherub features pulling together as eyes seem to darken in thought —- ❛ people like to think war MEANS SOMETHING , as if the commitment to the ideals of violence and hatred will eventually solve a conflict that was doomed from the beginning . war is INTOLERABLE . the moment we commit to fighting , we’ve already lost . ❜ a pause .
❛ how do you explain violence , young one ? is it not born out of hatred , begetting more violence within a never ending cycle —- how can you preach for the abolition of say , the current ongoing war , when you have committed yourself to the battleground , where there are no moral grounds to justify surrendering methods of communication to reach a formidable solution ? we have been deceived into thinking that we must be a part of it , for the ends will never justify the means . ❜ a wry smile . ❛ and haven’t you heard , sweetheart ? these violent delights have violent ends . ❜
does obiwan make you BUST A MCFUCKING NUT
❛ i’m unfamiliar with this phrase — this ‘ bust a nut ’ ? sounds painful . ❜
how do you feel about being reunited with obi-wan?
❛ it brings me great joy to see an old friend again . ❜ fixed smile upon soft lips , gentle gaze resting upon something in the distance , before her tone turns wry . ❛ although i sincerely hope things won’t end on a note of bloodshed and rushed confessions yet again . ❜
sooo what's the deal with you and master kenobi?
❛ general kenobi is a dear , dear friend of mine . i owe him my life . ❜
obi-wan:
obi-wan was no stranger to the blue shadow virus. he had encountered the wretched plague once before, wielded by a mad man who’d intended to loose it on the people of naboo. it was curable, but the vine required for the antidote was many lightyears away now and there was no foreseeable way off planet. and so, obi-wan had taken up his post to search for the one who’d freed the virus from its chamber. he hoped that the one who’d freed it might have the antidote, or that they would know how to create one using the supplies available to them. despite his duties, however, obi-wan found himself visiting his old friend regularly. if these were the last hours of her life, he intended to spend them by satine’s side. obi-wan dipped his head slightly in response to her words, his gaze searching the floor briefly in an attempt to rid his mind of those images of her first death. “this isn’t the end, duchess,” he spoke calmly, as if to reassure the both of them. “some of those assigned to the cure team are very capable, and i assure you that we will find whoever did this. have faith.” he couldn’t bear to see her die again. obi-wan hadn’t reacted quickly enough last time, but this time, he told himself, this time would be different.
* HE IS A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES , and she finds herself wishing she could reach through the glass this very moment and stroke his face like she had in their last memory together , one that she fears she may have to relive once more , this time without him by her side ( yet perhaps it’s a small blessing , for the look on his face in her final moments is one that lingers in her mind , especially as she gazes upon his face right this moment ). ❛ fret not , my dear obi-wan , i shan’t lose hope . ❜ i have faith in you , goes unvoiced and a small smile rests upon her lips , eyes crinkling at the corners as she holds back the urge to rest her hand upon the glass like she’s seen others do so with their loved ones as they came to visit ( it’s finding more difficult to remind herself they were not like that , no matter the confession that had slipped her lips upon her death bed , a situation they both had yet to properly discuss ). ❛ how is the search proving so far ? any new leads ? ❜ business as always it seemed . ❛ i know the search is important , but have you been resting ? ❜
brynn:
another person infected by the same disease. brynn had stopped trying to do a head count by the time she hit twelve, but every new face she saw in the quarantine made her heart break. brynn thought, perhaps foolishly and definitely arrogantly, that she was invincible. the force wouldn’t bring her back just to kill her again so quickly. she wasn’t so sure about everyone else, though that was mostly because she didn’t know any of their stories. “i’d hate to die of this. it seems like a lame way to die,” she said. “i’m glad so many people are helping. i just wish i knew them a bit more so i could trust that they’d work fast enough so that more people don’t die.”
* SHE FEELS COMPELLED TO HELP in one way or another —- sitting helplessly while others did all the work was never satine’s forte , even as a championed monarch , waited on hand and foot if so desired . she tells herself she’ll arise soon , stand and dote on those less fortunate than her at the moment , aid them in their endeavors as they all await this so - called CURE to be found ( if there is one , a voice whispers at the back of her mind , a voice perhaps named FEAR ). ❛ i’m inclinced to agree with you , miss . . . ❜ she trails off for a moment in question . ❛ however , i would trust two of them with my very life —- have done so in the past , and i find myself faithful to them still . if anyone can find this cure , i’m sure it’ll be them . i just wish it were i out there searching alongside them . . . if only there were some way to help speed things along . ❜
varan:
he’s reminded of his home. varan recalls it often, even if he was merely a few years old when he inhabited it. since his arrival on naboo, he’s been attempting to reform the served connection he once had to his planet, to his people. to the parents who sought a life of greatness for him, or at least peace. so far in his readings, he’s reached the era of the clone wars and how mandalore fit into the bloodshed of the rest of the galaxy. for this reason, the woman strikes him as eerily familiar. eyebrows furrow, lips twitching as he watches her speak. and then it hits him. a holo he’d gazed upon on a particular late night, tinted in blue and grey comes into view. “ you’re–– ” eyes widen slightly, taking in her nature that feels so intimate to him. ( his mother carried herself similarly. ) “ duchess satine. from mandalore. ”
* SHE UNDERESTIMATES HER WORTH , surprise obvious across her features . she once understood the power the kryze clan held , an esteemed name and one that robbed her childhood to instead drill the important of her people and the responsibilities she would one day hold into her head . ONE DAY , they all told her , YOU’LL UNDERSTAND . perhaps when she sat upon the throne , she glimpsed into the life of an monarch , with the fate mandalore and 1500 star systems upon her shoulders , a fact least forgotten as she sought sleep at night , especially remembered as attempts made on her life became as common as the fact war ravaged galaxies long and wide ( especially upon her own home planet despite her attempts to tame the beast named violence —- peace and tranquility didn’t last long ) ❛ i am , ❜ she proclaims with a raised brow , a small smile upon red lips . ❛ a fellow mandalorian , ❜ she says , eyeing his neck as recognition fills her gaze . ❛ a pleasure . as you know my name , i feel compelled to ask of yours in return . ❜
location: quarantine
* THE GHOST OF DEATH , it seemed would continue to haunt satine even in this new life she’d awoken to . she holds her handkerchief to her mouth and coughs — no red specks yet ; she’d been spared so far all thanks to the quick work of the scientists and doctors that had quickly engineered something to slow down the effects ( yet not fast enough , it seemed , as the death count continues to slowly climb , serving to her as a reminder of the past , as if it were yet another mandalorian war they’d been stringed into — this time of disease and slow demise , with no end yet in sight aside from the obvious of a room of corpses being burnt alive ). ❛ a tragic end , ❜ she says out loud eventually , bitter smile upon her lips . ❛ don’t get me wrong , darling ; i still have hope in our friends to find a cure . . . it’s simply a little fleeting at the moment . ❜
favourite obitine moments 1/??
“ i’m not so sure about the beard . . . ” “ what’s wrong with the beard ?? ” “ it hides too much of your handsome face. ”

OBI-WAN.
naboo. obi-wan recognized the planet immediately. the handsome, domed architecture and flashy apparel stood out amongst the other planets he’d visited through the years. he had spent much time here in his younger days, before anakin’s betrayal, and he’d come to know its capitol city rather well. but why was he here? he squinted slightly, studying his surroundings for some sort of answer. this was not where he belonged. obi-wan was to be dead. he’d been struck down by his apprentice aboard the death star. so why…? he squinted slightly, trying not to appear disoriented.
and there, in the crowd, he saw her.
for a moment it was as though the force had bound him. obi-wan couldn’t move, couldn’t speak her name, but hers was a face that he’d know anywhere. she, too, was supposed to be dead. as always, his movements were graceful and practiced, and he slipped through the throngs of people without difficulty. until, at last he’d found her. he didn’t dare reach out lest he had the wrong person (or that she’d turn her deactivator on him). but he wasn’t wrong, he knew it. he knew her. “duchess?” he murmured, his voice so low that it was almost a whisper. how could this be? how could they both be alive?
EVER SINCE HER REVIVAL , she’d been wondering the fate of mandalore , pondering the very path the galaxy itself had taken since her untimely death and demise . ever since a young age , the duchess of mandalore had been just what her title implied — with power bestowed upon her , serving as a reminder from all those that surrounded her of what her fate was always to be ; a ruler would always be indebted to her people , would sacrifice her very life in servitude to those she took a personal oath to protect . left alone to her own devices ( she didn’t know many after all , aside from a few close friends that had enough on their plate without her nagging ) and tired of her very thoughts , she’d set out to the marketplace for a change in pace , for something more to ponder past her planet , her star systems , her family , her ben.
the voice comes to her through the crowd , akin to a nightingale’s song gracing the stillness before the outbreak of dawn , both a blessing and a curse in disguise as her heart stills within her and her body moves before she can begin to register her moves ( BEN !! HE LIVES !! ) she turns with passion in her steps , hope encased upon her features — a sharp intake of air . ❛ ben ?? ❜ almost a faint whisper , and she must hold herself back from doing something foolish ( from running into his arms and holding herself against him as if he offered salvation and she were a mere ‘ damsel in distress ’ ). a clearing of the throat , and a smile she can’t hold back , a blossoming feeling of both relief and love within her chest that threatens to rise to her throat — he lives . ❛ master kenobi ... so you are alive . ❜
@ofobiwans.
phasma:
“How do you have fun at all? Have you never tasted the thrill of having someone elses life in your hands?” Phasma wondered, raising an eyebrow at Satine as she spoke with her hands. “To crush those that are beneath me. I’d have thought that was obvious?”
❛ like other civilized beings, i have hobbies. i don’t make a habit of threatening other’s lives for the sake of a little fun — respect for a life goes both ways ... something i’m beginning to see you might never understand the value of. ❜
niamh:
“Just calling things as I see them, Ma’am. My mother was always big on that idea” Niamh reassured, hoping the other hadn’t seen it as pathetic flattery. “Oh for real? I wouldn’t say it about me mind, I got ma rat tails hair, dusty pilot suit…But ya know, I’ll take it” she grinned.
❛ you have my most sincerest of thanks — but please, i’d prefer satine. i’d say we’ve approached the territory of friendship ... and you are ?? ❜ with a small shake of her head, frown setting upon her lips, she reaches forward and offers a gentle touch the other’s hand in reassurance. ❛ darling, you’re beautiful ; i won’t stand for any further attempts at putting yourself down. ❜
