But ironically enough in a male violent world where war culture and its institutions regulate male behaviour and their behaviour towards themselves and others and how they are perceived to a degree that a whole clan got wiped out is very bloody cruel and patriarchal .... These effects allude to the characters especially Naruto and Sasuke that fighting a great fight with great powers and dying is an acceptable honoured way for an ending or crashing and brutalising the other to their death which is reinforced by society and their war institutions (government) that suits their ninja world and I can't stress how depressing this worldview is ..... Then for these characters instead of dying to their misery they just talk (after their fight first lol) yes talk about burdens and pain and wanting to shoulder the other's heavy commitments which is very much anti- patriarchy (no I don't think KISHI wrote it on purpose lol) but the sentiment is still there and especially for their world-building it's not only a sentiment of friendship and brotherhood (it's actually not an easy sentiment to uphold in their world in the first place) but also LOVE and not any kind of love it's the one that's about forgiveness and commitment that's almost like a prayer.

it's very revolutionary to uphold this kind of sentiment in their world setting.

everyone is so obsessed with what wearing what clothes means what about that person and it gets a little exhausting. I'm sorry, I know it's not unimportant. I know having a feeling of your externality matching your internality is a psychological good. I know this. can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.

I’d die on the hill that “stranger danger” is a deeply unhelpful mentality to have. “Ooooh everyone is out to get me they’re all gonna perpetrate harm that’s actually more likely to come from someone I already know. I better never talk to anyone in my community who I don’t already know, just to be safe. I’m sure there are no other biases interwoven with this mentality” like oh my god human traffickers do not just randomly spawn in every parking lot. You don’t have to go solo hitchhiking across the country but you also don’t have to live in fear that every guy on the street is the knife man who’s gonna get you. Like have situational awareness, yeah. But most of the time the guy on the street is not knife man he’s actually just a guy on the street and he’s probably pretty chill, and you’re driving yourself crazy by living in a constant state of unnecessary fear.
