So someone vying to win their party’s primary is “splitting the vote”? Unless they drop out and run Independent, that’s not the case - that’s just not how primaries work. If that were the case, why wouldn’t you accuse Yang or Steyer or any of the other non-frontrunners of splitting the vote? Hell, even someone running Independent or third-party isn’t necessarily splitting the vote, since people voting for them might not have necessarily voted for either of the major party candidates anyways.
That being said, I just googled Gabbard and learned that she voted against Trump’s impeachment, and I’m actually a bit shocked, given how much she’s spoken out against him in the past. There’s a reason I’m not planning on voting for her, and it’s that she often fails to exhibit as much courage in her actions as she does in her words - in this case, she’s happy to blast Trump over policy disagreements, but is the only democrat to not do something about the guy when it counts, so at this point, I’m done defending Tulsi.
