We’ve all got super special powerful magic but our training only ever focuses on using weapons ✨
We are an aerial army but we only fight on the ground using swords ✨
The inner circle being shocked at what a genuinely wonderful person Nesta is when she‘s not around people who expect her to snap at any given moment and treat her like the dirt under their shoes will never not make me angry like my sweetheart is right there YOURE AT FAULT
In my opinion Nesta has a 'trauma personality'. We don't know the real her (at least not fully). She hasn't healed enough in order to stop living life through her 'trauma personality' and many of her trauma responses.
anyone ever notice that the ic (and by extension a good chunk of the fandom) tends to hate on the most personal but the most harmless (the likelihood of Nesta and Tamlin actually moving to murder all of them is low) people in the perspectives of the ic?
I'm pretty sure Amarantha has killed more people, has made more fae suffer, has caused so much harm. Likewise, the king of Hybern. Are we sure that Tamlin and Nesta are the scum of the earth like the fandom makes them out to be???
Just thinking about how people don't take care of Nesta and how nobody truly knows just how bad her whole life has been and I'm so sad I want to cry.
Loathe loathe LOATHE when Nesta, who has always been denied her own humanity, compared to a viper, a witch, a rabid dog, a beast, pure death, impenetrable, is crying out to Cassian, asking for him to love her in a human way, a way she understands, not as a mate but as a person…and his response is to center his own insecurity…bitch…
I’ll never understand why SJM didn’t have him reach out to her in a human way, instead that of a fae.
i don’t think i’ll ever be over how dumb and utterly stupid high lords meeting was
excluding tamlin and beron the other high lords have a survival skills of a newborn deer
no brain cells or trust issues against a group of people who have given them -and continued to at that meeting- multiple reasons to not be trustworthy
no wonder amarantha trapped them, they are dumb as fuck
beron and tamlin that whole meeting:
Why doesn’t Feyre think like a hunter? Obviously it comes down to very poor writing and a lack of character… but take this particular instance.
There’s a scene where a wingless Summer Court faerie is bleeding to death. I vividly remember the way she described how he screamed “was a cry of an animal Feyre didn’t cleanly kill.”
Why didn’t she offer mercy and kill him quickly? I just think it would be interesting, especially because Tamlin says in the earlier book, “I kill enough as it is.” We know that he doesn’t enjoy it… and I think it would be interesting to say that killing the suffering faerie quickly would be merciful.
Then it would develop a stronger theme around death. In ACOTAR there’s a repeated idea of, “not dying alone”. A sweet thought. Not very consistent though when we explore war in the third book. Where soldiers die slowly, die alone, or have no body left behind…
I also think it’s too flowery of an idea from a girl who grew up in poverty. A girl who lived in a poor town where people were dying left and right slowly or otherwise…like from disease, starvation, ect ect.
Also no one is allowed to choose how, when, or where they die. 🧍 Think of all the sentinels Tamlin sent over the wall, for them to die in a forest, and most likely be skinned.
I wish Feyre had the idea of “Memento Mori”. (Remember you must die. It’s even used in the Crescent City Trilogy..) And then Rhysand would also reflect this idea. He is already shown to kill many people quickly as a mercy. Clare Beddor and that one Summer Court faerie UTM.
Then Feyre recognizes it as a mercy kill.
She thinks it’s odd. I believe she would initially think of Rhysand like a cat who plays with his food first. Him exhibiting similar patterns of violence as Amarantha. Or so she thought.
Animals do not give out merciful killings.
“What game are you playing at?” She would ask him.
“A very long and tiresome game, Feyre.” Rhysand throws back a goblet of wine. “One where everyone is easily expendable, much like you.”
Feyre narrowed her eyes. “Faerie cunt. Give me straight answer.” Rhysand smiled. I also wish she was more bold. Less polite because she long lost her care for being classy. I also think if we lean into the “love” theme of Feyre and she was more of a hunter…. Feyre just wouldn’t think of it.
“Tamlin’s a nice man. Food’s good.”
“Food’s good. So, if I were to offer you food, would you be my Champion instead?”
“Food, clothes, roof, bed, an’ bath,” Feyre corrected. “Loyalty with price. No, you don’t give clothes. This is not cloth or fur or leathers.” She gestured to the sheer thing wrapped around her. If it were any colder under this rock, Feyre thought she’d get frostbite. “It’s a joke. I am a joke to you an’ those folks.”
I also head cannon Feyre with a thick accent of a sort. And very loose on her grammar. Like— very. Maybe Feyre picked up from Nesta and Elain but she spends most of her time alone and in the town doing trades sooo….
in parallel universe, your favorite fictional character is real and you are fictional and he is reading fanfics about you, kicking his feet in the air and giggling.
Ik it's been a month but when I saw this shit on my feed, you can imagine the sigh I sighed, dragging hands down my face and mentally debating whether or not I should start my day listening to this author deep-throat her fictional hubby like there is no tomorrow.
Cassian Would Let the IC Hurt Nesta
This is the moment that confirms it. Nesta is refusing to train, and the consequences for not training are being dumped in the Human Lands. That is not a safe place for Nesta, she would be reviled and targeted and hunted down. When the IC were telling Nesta it was be locked up and trained or be sent to the Human Lands, they were making threats. Cassian joins in on these threats, and here, relinquishes responsibility for if these threats are carries through. He is making it clear to Nesta that if she doesn't follow the IC's orders, he won't intervene if the IC punish her for it.
I think Cassian's protectiveness of Nesta is limited to outside threats. Nesta is his Mate, therefore she's his. An outside threat targeting something that is his is outrageous. But Cassian considers himself to belong to the Inner Circle, to Rhys most of all, and therefore what is his is their's, and as Nesta is his, they, especially Rhys, ultimately have the right to do what they like to her. Cassian might not like it, but ultimately, that's the way of things.
"Nesta has said worse things to Cassian than Eris has."
No, actually, she hasn't or else people would be able to supply quotes of what she said that was worse than Eris.
You know who has said worse things to Cassian than Eris? Amren. You know who calls Cassian a bastard the most? Amren. You know who throws around insults like it's her favorite thing to do? Amren. You know who's verbally abusive and racist? Amren. You know who's rude and disrespectful? Amren.
Amren's far nastier than Nesta, yet she gets a free pass because she's a member of the hypocritical IC and she's submissive to Feysand.
Eris Vanserra ever since meeting Nesta Archeron:
soldier, poet, king but it's emerie, gwyn, and nesta in that order
Nesta and Cassian fucking right after the kelpie assault was Nesta self-medicating with sex AGAIN but no one thinks of it that way since it’s Cassian, the person she’s “supposed” to have sex with.
When Cassian proposes a death pact with nesta to be like Rhys and Feyre, I do hope she laughs in his face
