Clearing up things previously said and introducing retcons to Balor’s character:
-Balor will no longer be blind as an adult. I was worried about making him ableist in his reasonings. Since the old back story is gone, let me explain: there was an alternate version of Balor called Althum (the trollish word for ‘peace’) who wanted to end all conflict by, well, killing those who cause conflict. His magic was so powerful and his mantra so delusional that he basically killed EVERYONE in his timeline. He had even reached his influence back in time so Balor could be just like him but maybe do things differently to make his perfect, conflict-less world. Growing up, Balor feared turning into Althum and tried to make himself and his world one where Althum just wouldn’t happen. But the phrase “my kingdom spreads as far as my eyes can see” stuck with him, so as an adult, Balor removed his eyes, and with them the threat of becoming Althum. Hence why adult Balor was so carefree and relaxed and candid in life. He believed he saved the world with his sacrifice, choosing to be blind. So for this retcon, never mind all that. Balor could theoretically remove his eyes, but he won’t. He doesn’t cover them and isn’t ashamed of them. He’s happy to be able to see his beautiful, wonderful world and everyone in it.
-Balor appears on his mom’s blog, arcadiaoaksusedbooks, but she’s still the central character of that blog. This one is for threads, questions and interactions for just Balor.
-Balor is adopted! He has no birth parents! Nadia is his adoptive mother!
-In main verse, Balor is an only child. I’ve scrapped his sister because I’m not sure what to do with her, and I fell into the eternal no-no of naming her after another one of my characters. However, Balor still has twin siblings with healing-and-promises in another verse (both my blogs are multiverse multiship). The twins can be interacted with here as babies, child and teens. Just ask for Ginko and Larkin.
-You can still interact with Balor as a child, teen, or adult. All their wonderful personality traits are still there.
-I... can’t think of a good title for Balor now that he’s no longer Balor the Blind. I’d love suggestions.
((That’s all I can think of right now. Thank you for your patience, everyone. Balor is now open for business again!))
