Autistic play is still play!
Lining up your toys counts
Organizing them based on height or colour counts
Colour cordinating your colouring supplies count
Sensory mats count as play
Playing with fidget toys counts as play
Using gloves to protect your hands from finger paints or clay is okay!
Making scenes with your toys counts
Play how ever you wanna play!
You’re allowed to enjoy age regression
You’re allowed to be “annoying”
You’re allowed to do things that confuse people
You’re allowed to be yourself, even and especially when you’re little
and don’t ever forget it!!
We all need floor time sometimes
self love in age regression.
making yourself a small meal even when you don't feel like doing so
giving urself reminders to take your meds/eat
telling ur carer when you need to take a nap so you don't crash throughout the day
give urself a hug, it may seem silly but it may feel good! while ur standing up or laying down.
emptying your head, maybe it's the end of the day. you could write ur thoughts, type them down into a notes folder, even babble then out loud to ur carer or to nobody. I talk to myself and I feel rlly good after verbalizing my thoughts
quiet time! sometimes you need to decompress. if u don't like complete silence maybe an asmr or soft music in the background. it helps me when I wanna have some me time
get some sunlight! sun can help with dopamine if gotten first thing in the morning and even depressing thoughts. (vitamin d supplements can be used if u live in a cloudy/gloomy area)
please take w a grain of salt, this is from my experience
Appreciation for all the regressors who have had bad experiences during or for their regression ♡
- those who've been taken advantage of while regressing
- people who dislike regressing but still do it involuntarily
- those who have lost friends or relationships due to their regression
- people who have been discouraged from getting caregivers due to trauma or past experiences
- those who are reminded of their trauma when regressing
- people who regress to mourn for a childhood they could've had
- those who dislike regressing because it makes them more "weak"
You're all valid and loved 🧡

the most important thing is to be snuggly in bed
nurture your inner child!!! play games, explore, run through a field, laugh loudly and joyfully, make art just for the fun of it, try new hobbies not as a new side gig but as something to make you smile and calm you down; you’re not too old you’re never too old to start learning how to skateboard or ride a bike or go ice skating or eat a giant ice cream cone or play hide and seek or color in coloring books or watch cartoons or make silly faces or sing at the top of your lungs and dance badly. there is so much in this world that can cause pain so embrace JOY when it moves you, don’t be afraid
Reassurance for trauma babies
☁️ you are never a burden to anyone ! Not your friends , not your partner , not your family , not your caregiver , or anyone just because you’re a tiny bab 🤍
🌱 your regression is never dirty or gross . Your valid in your regression if you wanna cry , if you wanna scream , if you wanna fuss . Your valid . Regression isn’t always happy ! Mine isn’t always happy either . And that’s okay !! You’re valid in how you cope little loves 🤍
🐭 once you regress there’s never pressure to age up again . You do that when YOU are ready and it’s safe to do so
☁️ no one is going to take away your things ( I.E toys , comfort stuffs ) they’re with you and that’s where they’ll always stay !
🌱 it’s okay to have boundaries when small . And it’s okay to express those boundaries with your carer , Sibbies , frens , trusted person !
🐭 it’s okay to have outbursts ! You’re not scary ! I have them too !
☁️ it’s perfectly okay to ask your carer to hold you , to give you attention , etc . If they can’t right that second or are busy doing adult things that doesn’t for any second mean they don’t care , or they don’t love you ! They love you always ! 🤍
🌱 no one hates you ! Or your regression !
I’m so glad you all are alive , here , and healthy ! Thank you for making this world a brighter place ! Thank you for sharing your regression , for helping make this Online community a safe space ! I care about all of you ! And am always here for anyone who needs advice , help , a fren , etc ! 🤍🌱 don’t give up ! You’re needed here ! Always !
⊹ * ˖🧩 learning to play again ₊* 🧸⋆₊🍌。
as we grow up, we're often encouraged to stop playing, to throw away or sell our toys and act our age. this can make letting yourself play again hard. i find that i collect my toys far more than i play with them so here's a list of ideas i came up with to encourage yourself to play:
---------------------------------------------------
lip sync to songs and have your stuffies "say" the words. (works well with songs from musicals, or songs that tell a story!)
have a tea party and share your food with your toys and stuffies
look after a stuffie: care for them as you would a baby, give them snuggles, help feed them with a bottle and tuck them in
act out a scene from a movie
or! make up your own story
play under the covers or in a quiet room where you feel safe
make your own toys, this can be with paper, felt or fabric (then they can be the perfect toy for you!)
look up activities on pinterest to try!

Affirmations for reparenting the inner child
One way we can work on healing from childhood abuse and neglect is to imagine our childhood self and say the things to ourselves that our caregivers SHOULD have expressed to us and didn’t. Imagine your self at each of these ages. Imagine holding that child-self lovingly in your arms or on your lap, and say these things to the child-you that is still inside you.

Welcome to the world.
I am so glad you were born.
You are absolutely perfect just as you are.
I am glad you are a boy/girl/nb/etc.
You are a delight to behold.
You are a gift to the world.
I love who you are.
Toddler
All of your feelings are okay with me.
You can be interested in everything.
I love to watch you explore.
I am always glad to see you.
You can do things as many times as you like.
You can like what you like and want what you want.
I like it when you say no.
I like it when you let me know if I hurt your feelings.
You can go off on your own or be with me as much as you like.
It’s okay for you to be angry, and I won’t let you hurt yourself or others when you are.
I love who you are.
Pre-schooler
I love how you speak and I love to listen to you.
I love how you sing and dance.
I like how you think for yourself.
You can think and feel at the same time.
You can make mistakes–they are your teachers.
You can know what you need and ask for help.
You can ask as many questions as you like.
You can have your own preferences and tastes.
You are a delight to my eyes.
I love who you are.
School child
It is always a joy to see you and be with you.
It is wonderful to converse with you.
You can trust your intuition to help you make choices.
I love how you have your own ideas and opinions.
You can choose your own values.
I love how you ask for what you want and need.
You can pick your own friends, and you don’t have to like everyone.
You can learn when and how to disagree.
You can be fair with yourself and others.
You can sometimes feel confused and ambivalent and not know all the answers.
I am very proud of you.
I love who you are.
A little encouragement!
