How I see America as an Asian:
Life Magazine, April 1910
Nathaniel Olds, Jeptha Homer Wade , 1837, Cleveland Museum of Art: American Painting and Sculpture
The green-tinted spectacles worn by Olds were designed to protect the eyes from the intensity of Argand lamps, a type of indoor light used during the early 1800s. These lamps burned whale oil, and many people worried that its bright flames might damage eyesight. The painter of this portrait founded the Western Union Telegraph Company in 1854 and soon became one of Cleveland’s wealthiest industrialists. His grandson, Jeptha Wade II, was a founder of the Cleveland Museum of Art and donated the land upon which it stands as a Christmas gift to the city in 1892. Size: Framed: 87 x 71.8 x 5.7 cm (34 ¼ x 28 ¼ x 2 ¼ in.); Unframed: 76.5 x 61.2 cm (30 1/8 x 24 1/8 in.) Medium: oil on canvas

Hilda by Duane Bryers
More Hilda!!
in this family we love and support Hilda.
Yes! Hilda!
What i love about this artist’s depictions of women is even the sexualized ones the woman is always genuinely happy and enjoying herself. Frolicking or making funny faces, she’s living her life and looking sexy while doing it, not sitting in a sexual pose for the audience’s view.
I always forget about Hilda and am so pleased when she randomly shows up on my dash. Always makes my day
I love Hilda so much and I want her to be happy
more Hilda!
I freaking love Hilda, there’s needs to be more art like this.
I will never not reblog Hilda
Hilda is a treasure ❤️❤️❤️
obsessed with how she went “these pajamas don’t fit? i will make them fit.” keep #girl bossing
yes i am smart. yes i am stupid. it’s called being flexible.
why would she sell sea shells by a sea shore when you can just pick them off of the ground for free that’s not how you run a business
She’s sold sea shells by the seashore since shapely seashore seashells stay scarce. Since she sells superior shells searchers spend centuries searching for, seldom selling simple shells, so she still sustains solid savings.
I couldn’t even read that in my head
This is probably the most Gen Z headline I’ve ever read and I can’t get enough
