Aw, shucks, Miss Elli. ♪ [Grins wide, brow knitting with pleased embarrassment at the compliment - before glancing around the room. With a lack of vase presenting itself to him, he instead tucks the blossoms into the pencil holder on her desk by their stems - careful to leave the writing utensils inside still accessible.] I'll let you know when the apples are ready for pickin' then, huh? You can come by and see it and I'll send you home with a basket of 'em. ♪ Pickin' them's half the fun!
Yes! [Clasps her hands together in delight, eyes falling to the pencil holder after he places the apples blossoms into it.] I would love to come and visit, and pick some apples! That would be lovely. And I’m sure that the apples you grow are just wonderful. ♥ Oh, I can’t wait! It’s been far too long since I’ve been able to go out and enjoy nature for a change, heehee.
[Takes a moment to pause, fixing a fond gaze upon the blossoms. She smiles almost obliviously - before pointing to them.]
Are… you leaving these here? ♪
[Starts snickering at her response - before nodding along in agreement, leaning away long enough to sit on the edge of her desk instead of leaning against it.] Yeah, s'pose you're right. But that might just make it all the more worthwhile. ♪ Oh, that reminds me! [He pulls his rucksack off in order to dig around inside it, before producing a handful of apple blossoms - which he shows to her excitedly.] Guess whose tree took to bloomin' late in the Summer? That means fruit this fall, after all! ♪
[Her grip on the file folder loosens when Kasey sits on the edge of the desk. Unbeknownst to her, she sighs in small relief, before nodding and offering another smile.]  W-Well, I’m sure that any snowperson you build would be very adorable, Kasey. ♪
[Peers down at his rucksack - and brightens up immediately when the apple blossoms are produced. She touches a single hand to her burning cheek, in more of an effort to cool it down than anything.]
They’re beautiful, Kasey! Oh, they’re absolutely gorgeous! ♥ Your hands are full of life, producing something as wonderful as that. I bet the tree looks lovely on your farm! I wish I could see it, heehee.
Mind it? Gosh, I'm looking forward to it! Winter's my favorite. [Leans closer ever-so-slightly, his front teeth catching his lower lip in a goofy, toothy smile.] I think that's an invitation to build an army of snowpeople outside of Town Hall for you, Miss Elli. ♪ Soon as it snows, that's what I'll do. Heh. Think Gill'll mind?
[Can feel her eyes widening with the closing gap in between them. Her gaze falls to his lips for a split second - before back up at him.]
[Hugs the file folder to her chest.] A-Army of snowpeople? Outside? For me— ? [Lets out a nervous giggle.] Why, don’t be silly, Kasey! That would take you all day to complete. Gill might mumble a word or two and ask how they got there— maybe have them taken down. All of that hard work might go to waste! [Smiles at him with a darkening blush.]
Hey there, beautiful. *Grins* You know, uh... Your dad must be a baker, because you have a nice set of buns.
[Is giving him a clueless smile with an empty tray in her hands.]
Eh? [Tilts her head to the side.] My father was actually a fisherman! But, he did love Grandma’s buns. ♥ She is the one who taught me, actually. Gill ate all of my buns earlier this morning though, I’m sorry to say. If you’d like, I can prepare some more for you, Pete! ♪
[Rests his hip against the front of her desk, leaning one arm against the desk top and grinning ear to ear.] Aw shucks, that's awful sweet of you to say, Miss Elli. ♪ Beginning of fall? Hm-- ♪Born in the beginning of fall with♪-- naw, that's too many words. [Chuckles happily, leaning over nosily to see what she was doing before he came in.] Heh. Me? November - that's winter, right? Beginning of winter?
[Bats her eyelashes, watching curiously as he leans in closer. She blushes automatically the nearer that he draws.]
[Starts fiddling with the manilla file folder to distract herself.] Yes, I think that it is winter! My, you were born in quite a cold month, weren’t you? [Offers him a smile.] Do you like the snowy season, Kasey? I take you as the kind of person who wouldn’t mind building a snowman or two, heehee. ♥
[Humming a tune as he lets himself into Town Hall, still sing-songing as he approaches Elli's workspace - grinning ear to ear.] ♪ Ohhh I dream of Elli with the light brown hair~♪ Born as a baker in the summer air~!♪ [Grins, oblivious to the fact he got the words mostly wrong.] Were you born in summer, Miss Elli?
[Slips a small packet of papers into a manilla folder, reaching for a red pen to label it before Kasey’s singing rouses her attention the other direction instead.]
[Instinctively giggles at his antics, blushing lightly.] Good heavens, Kasey! Isn’t that song for a Miss Jennie? Heehee. ♪ Your voice sounds quite good, you know. [Forgets about the red pen for the moment, shaking her head at him.] I was actually born in the beginning of Fall, close to the summer, but not quite. And what about yourself? ♪
Break From Work ♪ || [Phillip&Elli]
 Heh — Well flour’s a lot better to get on you then dirt, that’s for sure. [Smiles broadly as she smoothed out her dress, leaning over to gently pat off a bit of flour on her shoulder.] — ♪ [Nods in reassurance.] You’re good now.
 I’m glad you think so! I was trying to think of something you’d like … … Kinda got me stumped for a couple days to be completely honest! [A laugh escapes him, scratching the back of his neck in the process.] So I figured since you liked baking so much … ingredients for just that might make you happy ♪!
 [Places a hand on the side of the fruit basket, looking to it and throwing a wink - indirectly talking to it for a moment.] Looks like you did your job little guys. She seems pretty pleased ♥. — [Glances back to her, a toothy grin on his face.] Heh ♪.
 [Regains his composer, wandering back over to the front of the young woman.] Really? Well what cha’ got cookin’ good lookin’ ♪? Sure smells sweet in here —
  ! [Demeanor drops entirely at her words, waving his hands in front of him as he registers her intentions - surprised that they came out as more of a comment than an offer.] E-Elli! You don’t have to do that! I came here to give you a break, not give you more work to do —!
[Giggles as Phillip thanks the basket of fruits, her hands folded neatly in front of her torso. She found his mannerisms endearing above all else.]
Yes. ♪ I'm not sure what would enthuse a baker more than a fresh basket of produce-- other than a lifetime supply of flour, eggs, sugar, and butter of course, hee hee. Oh, right! [Turns and walks into the kitchen, passing a smile at Phillip from over her shoulder as she does so to encourage him to follow.] I was just baking a simple white cake, actually. I wanted to work on decorating it to make it stand out, but it's not done yet so, I haven't started! I was thinking of either doing a modern geometric pattern, or something floral.
[From the corner of her eye, she notes that there is still an abundance of various fresh ingredients she can use to make lunch for Phillip. As such, she places both hands on her hips and fixes her friend a dismissive giggle.]
My, but it's not work if I enjoy cooking, Phillip! Now tell me, what would you like to eat? ♥ I can bake you something of course, or actually cook you a more filling and nutritional meal. A farmer like you should be eating very carefully, of course. [Smiles again.]
Elli&Felicity ♫
Well, [she opens up the already unsealed envelope and reveals two folded up pieces of paper.] Two years ago, on my birthday, my sister sent me these with the intention of us going together. But, you see, she just had a preemie baby and won’t be fit to travel for a long time. [she unfolds one of the papers and shows her a round trip ticket to Sicily.] I was just going to sell the second ticket but… [she gives Elli a tiny smile] I know we don’t really know each other that well, and it’s a little straightforward, but if you’d want to go with me… [she trails off]
[Bats her eyelashes down at the unsealed envelope, her head still tilting to the side. Though she is unaware of its contents, Elli remains calmly curious - until her friend presses on.]
A t-ticket? [Eyes widen at her.] To S-Sicily? Visiting Sicily! Oh my... what a wonder indeed! I'd never think I'd actually see two roundtrip tickets to Sicily of all places before my very eyes--Â
[Has to place a hand over her heart as if to ease herself, before she marvels at the other woman. With her family background, after all, she would have never been able to afford such a trip.]
But, is it really ok? To go with me, I mean. You would really want to-- go there with me?
Break From Work ♪ || [Phillip&Elli]
 —! [A laugh escapes him at the sight of the young woman’s appearance, though all seeming well, he couldn’t help but find it cute.] Heya Elli ! [Sets the basket of fruits down on the counter, before walking to her and placing on hand to her chin to hold it up - while using the other to wipe the top of her nose.]
 Looks like you’re hard at work hm ♪?
 Actually — [Hand falls across his chest, chuckling before throwing her a wink.] Remember that picnic you promised me way back in the day? Well I’d feel pretty rude just stopping by asking for food one day out of the ordinary, [A toothy grin.] so I brought by some ingredients you could use for in the future.
 We don’t have to go today - but I was just wondering maybe you could get a break off from work today to come hang out anyway ♪.
Eh? [Smiles at him curiously, about to ask him why he was laughing - before she finds her chin being lifted and her nose wiped. Immediately, a pink blush permeates on her cheeks.]Â
Oh, goodness. Did I get flour on it again? Hah-- ♪ Yes, that seems to happen when I'm trying out a new recipe and I get excited. Th-Thank you... [Smooths out her dress as if she worried that her clothes were somehow stained too.]
[Perks up at the fruits basket and then again to him.] My, you brought all of that for me to use? How wonderful, Phillip. ♥ And how considerate of you too! Oh, they look so lovely... ! [Admires all of the fresh fruit, nodding her head.]
[Beams at her friend.] I certainly can take a day off! I actually just finished preparing the last of the dessert batches for later. And now, I really just want to cook something for you, heehee. ♪
Come into the kitchen with me. Tell me what you would like. ♪
[Hooks his thumbs into his front pockets, beaming wide at the praise.] Shucks. ♪ I’m looking forward to it more than anything! [He looks down to the sandwich in his hands, beaming.] New recipe? Absolutely, I’ll let you know!
[He nods happily.] Plenty of breaks, don’t you worry! In fact, I might go in and wash up right now before I eat this sandwich! ♪ Pretty sure I look awful. [Rubs his cheek sheepishly, having skipped a shave and a shower when he woke up in favor of taking care of his neighbor’s animals.] If I’d have known I was getting a visit from a pretty lady, I’d have thought twice about my choices when I woke up, heh. ♪
[Looks from Kasey's left eye to his right eye, batting her own lashes - before his words sank in and stimulated a pink blush.]
P-Pretty lady? Me? Oh... heavens no. ♪ [Gives a sheepish giggle, waving one hand dismissively, wondering what on earth prompted Kasey to say that out of the blue.] That's very sweet of you to say though, hm. ♪
[Smiles sweetly.] But really, Kasey! You are a very handsome man, farming clothes and all. And you have so much energy to run the place - not mention care for Kevin's farm and Molly's on top of that. Where do you get all of your spirit from, I wonder? ♪
Elli&Felicity ♫
Oh, well thank you. [she smiles back and runs to fix a crooked frame] These are all the magazines that have published me. I guess I like to keep them as a weapon against self doubt. [she reaches to replace a half-empty bottle of wine back in the cupboard before turning back to Elli.]
Now, getting down to business. I have a proposition, and you reserve every right to decline. [reaches into a nearby drawer and removes a baby pink envelope] First comes first, though. How much do you trust me?
[Clasps her hands together, giving the magazines a marveling smile. It was no wonder why she looked up to Felicity so much.]
Eh? A proposition? [Gives a curious look - before eyes begin to shift towards the envelope, batting her eyelashes at it.] I trust you a great deal, of course. I've no reason not to, after all. [Smiles and nods.]
[Chuckles at the thought, waving his hand and shaking his head to clear it away.] You got it, Miss Elli. ♪ I’ll let you know first thing, once I get through tanning their hides. Heh. And not a word to Gill. [Drags his pinched forefinger and thumb across his lips, “zipping” them.]
Huh?
[He leans forward, excited now - snapping his fingers before accepting the sandwich with an enormous grin.] Aw gee, thank you! That means a lot to me! ♪ I’m gonna enjoy this, my stomach’s been rumbling for almost an hour! [He nods toward his empty field - now also empty of weeds and rocks - the occasional chicken from either Kevin or Molly’s farms looking to peck its way into it and deciding against it when they find only dirt on that side.]
Then I’ll have plenty of time to get back to digging that hole for your apple tree! ♪
[Giggles again, joyed that her cooking was able to make Kasey happy - even if he hadn't tried it yet!]
It was my pleasure, Kasey. You farmers work so hard for us, really. It's the least I could do. [Takes a look over to where he nods off, smiling helplessly at the chickens pecking away. The farm country had always put her at peace, and watching Kasey work was no different.]
Eh? [Snaps her attention back to him, batting her eyelashes - before breaking into a warm smile soon enough.] You-- really are planting an apple tree? For me? My, you really do work very hard. ♥ I'll be sure to bake you an incredible apple pie when they're ripe! And let me know what you think of those sandwiches. I'm practicing some new recipes out. ♪
You are taking plenty of breaks in between work, aren't you? I wouldn't want you to exhaust yourself...
