Okay - Let’s try the benefit of the doubt

Piecing everything we know so far, I’ll try to see how Vol. 2 makes sense for character development.

(Ignore pacing, the whole show is suffering from that rn).

1. Will-centric

Will’s journey of self-acceptance overshadows Mike’s…everything is a choice but what we have now.

Vol. 1:

Will accepts his sexuality

Accepting himself fully

Unlocking his power

Vol. 2:

Not needing Mike to accept himself fully

He’s moving on from the desperate boy in the van scene - he says he’ll always need Mike. ”Need” not want or love.

Will accepting Mike as his Tammy

Aka An unreciprocated crush. He wants something real, not a fantasy in his head.

Will comes out

From inner to outer acceptance, the arc is complete.

2. Mike is the plot twist

Enter Vol. 3

Our narrative climax starts.

Our focus shifts from Will to Mike

Will is basking in acceptance. The tension shifts to Mike now. This is foreshadowed by his lukewarm reaction to Will coming out.

Mike discovering Will’s crush and his own feelings

The painting lie. IDK HOW. This pacing is unpredictable. But it has to be brought up.

”To makeout? To date.”

Not a one-sided crush but real mutual love. Mike has to be one to bring this up.

Will is ready - he doesn’t need him but he wants and chooses to be with him.

From a teenage crush to a mature relationship. 💙💛💚

IDK if this is copium or what but hope for the best and prepare for the worst 😭🙏
