february 6, 2025 — revising, revising, revising. one of my friends scolded me today for racing to the future while we have so much time for work, café dates, and dining hall gossip. she's probably right. back to work on larsen's passing and the trauma of queer desire.

these look so great 🕯️
i can feel myself burning out and i am no where near finals season, i still have one more midterm left but trying to stay optimistic that we will remain healthy and energized not let academia wear me down. luckily today because of the snow storm my manager let me take the day off, so i did not need to come into work. i got to do my household errands, a little bit of studying and reading. i thought those "Sunday reset routine" was working for me but i realized i have such limited leisure time on the weekends and i'd like to end my weekend at home just doing something relaxing and leisurely. so i am gonna have my reset admin routine on Thursday evenings. because its when my "school work" is done and on Fridays i resume my work tasks. i'll see of this works better for me
two things i have been loving in my routine; i—i have been watching art history documentaries while i walk on the treadmill instead of scrolling on tiktok and ii—i write a weekly syllabus of media i want to consume in the week, if i am bored i know exactly what movies, books, articles, podcasts, games and youtube videos i want to watch/read/play. it helps to cultivate a conscious and intentional relationship with the content i consume. i dont feel so overwhelmed with the amount of options available for me. and this is not about appearing more intelligent etc etc nor for performance or aesthetics but its because i want to take back my agency/attention again! anyways i hope you all have a brilliant weekend, let me know what your tips are to spending less time doomscrolling!
lately i've been journaling in my car during lunch

Day 6 of being productive. I have my negotiations class now. Prepared for my negotiations. Wish me luck. I had to do so many case studies for this. Let’s get this over with! 🎯

my earphones are with me everywhere! my only birthday present i got for myself was a new paper republic grand voyager journal in the xl size. i had the small one for over a year now. i told myself that if its something that i actually use alot then i’ll gift myself the xl. I kept watching tiktoks of people buying multiple of these leather bound journals at once in various sizes (people can do whatever they like with their money but i am still a student with a part time salary sooo i couldnt). it got a bit overwhelming for my mind, watching alot of people buy 300$ worth of stationary because i couldn’t justify splurging so much all at once. even though deep down there was a violent itch in my brain to just purchase it.
in a time of extreme connivence and instant gratification i have been giving myself an intentional waiting periods before purchasing items. it has been extremely beneficially for my brain and for my pocket (hehe) and as a bonus i got a double discount because i had a discount code + the calendar bundle was on sale! i don’t want to associate getting dopamine from shopping anymore so just waiting months to a year to make certain purchases has decreased my desire to shop even for tiniest mundane things. anyways morale of the story is, take your time with your purchases. if its truly meant for you, it will be yours in the right time and you’ll have a better way of knowing how you want to intentionally use the items you’re collecting.
i see everything having energies, so i truly look and see whether or not this is the energy I want to bring to my personal space.
speaking of taking your time and planning things out, i am now reading count of monte cristo! the only book i think i want to take my time to read in july.
take care, i hope you all have a great weekend!
