February 7th is Grimbear Safety Awareness Day. (MPHFPC Calendar)
I tbh did NOT like the MPHFPC movie just because I'm a huge fan of the novel and graphic novel so everything in it made me upset.
same

Jacob himself could be biracial. Like if they were going to have only white loop people in the film they could've made the kid from the state with a high latinx population have a Latina mom or grandma. It's not out there at all
.
Honestly, I'm kind of tired of people saying the books weren't diverse and the movie was white washed and Tim Burton's a racist. People really need to consider the time and location of the book and that there really weren't very many coloured people around Wales at all! As for the movie, when people say that they're all so white and pasty that's probably because of the weather in Wales. It's getting so ridiculous and everything I see about mphfpc is just bitching about diversity and racism.
um okay wellÂ
#1. the books arent that diverse. thats a fact. theres a couple canon jewish characters, and a bunch of female characters, but thats it.
#2 i never mentioned race, i was talking about LGBT+ stuff and i never mentioned tim burtonÂ
#3. not all of the kids are welsh? Fiona and possibly hugh are irish, Enoch is from london, and Abe is from Poland so I believe there definitely others from mainland Europe. i believe the only one we know for a fact is welsh is Bronwyn.Â
#4. just because theres not a lot of people of color in wales during that time (not gonna pretend there was) doesnt mean there has to be exactly 0 people of color in the book? Cairenholm doesnt even exist, im sure someone couldve imagined up a latino or black person for a book.
#5. theres been zero “bitching” about diversity on this blog? i posted one thing mentioning the lack of diversity and i never mentioned race. please pick a fight with a different blog on this topic.
-Mod F, whos tired right now
Are there any canon LGBT characters in the books? I never saw anything but idk if you did
Unfortunately, no. Honestly, in my opinion the books are pretty bad for diversity.
BUTÂ theres nothing saying any of the characters are straight or cis. Emma could be bi. Bronwyn could be a butch lesbian. Millard could be genderfluid. Claire could be trans. Who knows!!!

Miss Peregrine tells the peculiar children only bad things about the future to prevent them from trying to leave the loop. (pg. 280)
Today, November 9th, is Emma's Birthday! (MPHFPC calendar)
Fiona is from Ireland. (MPHFPC, 189)
would't it be amazing to get spin off series of miss nightjar and her peculiar's? Or the perspective of a hollow like the mental and emotional state? if peculiarity's vary should't their be a peculiar who can turn into a hollow willingly and back to normal form and kind of act like a double agent?
all of this is super cool!

The anon flaw spotter– there's too much content to describe, but the flaws themselves are 1: the soldier in the picture (HC); 2: Emma's direct (HC), Emma's indirect (LoS); 4: "loop" holes 1 (HC), 2 (LoS) (concerning peculiars), 3 (LoS– concerning time and aging), and 4 (MPHFPC– concerning a conversation post-climax that indirectly leads to–); 8: The father's odd arc (between the ends of the 3 books); 9(ish): ambrosia (LoS– concerning Bentham's vial). Name one, and I'll go into more detail.
Man theres so much i want you to explain! some of it i can understand, but what does emma’s direct and emmas indirect mean?
-Mod F
How old are the blind brothers according to Jacob?
Jacob doesnt give the blind brothers/the bone brothers an age. To me they look about nine though!
-Mod F
There are (sadly) nine flaws throughout the trilogy.....
Id like to hear them anon. Im not arguing id like to hear what the flaws are
-Mod F
Do you remember where is quoted that Ms Nightjar looks after the "hard cases" or how it's explained?
its quoted on page 211 of the first book, and its explained by miss peregrine telling Jacob about Charlotte, a girl who aged forward and “wasnt right in the head” afterwards.

Millard saw lovey green angels that live just below, that kindly offered to take him to heaven. MPHFPC Pg 318
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children open in US theaters today!
Fiona once made a sapling grow twenty one meters while the peculiar children rode it. (MPHFPC, 190)
