RGTK theory - The Krakens are actually the bad guys (joke)
- Grandmamah introduces herself as a warrior queen, ultimate lordess and the ruler of the seven seas, implies they rule more than the kraken kingdom
- Grandmamah is quick to rage, egotistical, and lacks control over her powers (questionable traits)
- The kingdom is completely isolated, almost hidden. Pretty weird for the place that "protects everyone"
- According to Grandmamah and the film, mermaids, the devil whale, Umibozu, the leviathan, and the hydra are all evil. Why? Why are the krakens the only good sea kaijuu?
- Despite "protecting all the oceans creatures" the krakens have beef with all the aforementioned creatures? Are mermaids and kaijuu not also the ocean's creatures? The krakens only seem to have a positive relationship with themselves, the jellyfish, that whale ruby knows and the wise shark Grandmamah talks to. Grandma doesn't like any other species in the film. Suspicious for "good guys"
- Grandmamah says mermaids are the most dangerous but never explains how. "Vain, selfish, narcissists". So they're just crappy people? How does that make them dangerous? The film never states if they have powers. Even if mermaids are pure evil, they aren't a physical threat in an ocean FULL of giant sea creatures. Grandmamah even contradicts herself like 30 seconds later by stating that they are no match for the kraken "too puny".
- We never see the krakens protect sealife nor the other kaijuu harming sealife aside from when the women fight Nerissa.
- Grandmamah states that they lost family but neither Brill or Agatha mention this/ confirm it. (And why would grandma try to get Ruby involved in something that killed her family)
- Agatha hid the trident from Nerissa but Grandmamah as well. (If grandma knew where it was, she would've gotten it herself). Why would Agatha not tell her either?
- Brill calls Grandmamah a "warlord". I thought the krakens were protectors?
- Nerissa says the mermaids are in hiding because of the war, but from what? Aren't they the bad guys? The big threat, the ones who start problems? Are they being hunted by Grandmamah?
- The trident of Oceanus is the only thing that can kill a giant kraken. Where did it come from? The film only says Nerissa found it, not made or owns it. Not only does the trident kill krakens, but it makes the user as big as a kraken. And it clearly wasn't intended for the kaijuus because it's default size is tiny, as shown when Ruby grabbed it. A weapon meant for a tiny user to go big and take down the krakens with no other clear purpose/use...interesting.
- Aside from Agatha saying they left the ocean because of a mermaid and hiding the trident, no other person confirms if grandma is telling the truth when she tells Ruby about the ocean and the krakens
- How does Grandmamah know that Nerissa never had a daughter? Or that she's even still alive?
- Despite grandma claiming its her goal, Nerissa never makes any mention of wanting to rule the ocean, she only seems to want revenge. The closest is that she wants to dethrone grandma but never states putting herself in charge.
Conclusion: The Krakens aren't the good guys, they're just the ones in charge because they're the strongest and haven't been beaten. There aren't any "good guys" in the ocean. Every creature that has attempted to fight them is just trying to get rid of them or wants to be in power instead. Agatha realized this and that's why (alongside losing three family members) she hid the trident from everyone and took Ruby away.
Is any of this true? No. The film just has a really bad case of "Show don't Tell".
Popular ships are so funny because with some of them I can even see the vision, but with others I see their serious believers as the flat earthers of fandom
