“If you lose someone, but find yourself, you won.”

“Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.”
— Charlotte Eriksson
“You never realize the holes a person leaves behind until you fall into them.”
— Neal Shusterman, The Dark Side of Nowhere
“I believe in the person I want to become.”
— Lana Del Rey
"You need to learn to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life … work on the mind." - Elizabeth Gilbert
“I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.”
— Oscar Wilde
You still consume a majority of my thoughts. I dreamt of us reconnecting, it was a beautiful dream while it lasted, I remember the last message from you asking if I ever think of sending a message and backtrack so many times. The beauty of someone finding someone they would like the rest of their lives with doesn't escape me. It makes the regret so much more profound and everyday I ask myself when will i forgive myself for the fate I'm in. When will I stop this chain of thoughts, these thoughts of what could have been. I've changed, I'm sure you've changed, my thoughts have changed but the subject of these thoughts haven't. I want to ask you how you live your life without letting it affect you and to teach me how.
You're so much better than the person i am and the way we seem to fit each other in terms of personality despite the short time we've spent together. I know i am overthinking this but I've met many men after and nothing compares. I know I am comparing but I can't help it. I know I've changed and I ask myself if I've closed myself off and that's why things don't progress. I learn a lot about myself, I'm more cautious and careful now. I'm mindful about the way I speak, I don't try to change people. What a wonderful and beautiful thing it is to experience when someone genuinely enjoys your company and want to spend more time with you because of that.
Side note, would hypnosis help? I wonder. Would therapy? I'm too afraid to go down this path so I'm going to kickstart penning these thoughts down here. I want to start something to help myself and this is a start.
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow’.”
— Mary Anne Radmacher
"I'm learning to love myself. It's the hardest thing I've ever done." - Unknown
“I fell in love the way you fall asleep: Slowly, and then all at once.”
— John Green
“Never apologize for burning too brightly or collapsing into yourself every night. That is how galaxies are made.”
— Unknown
“It’s okay to love something a little too much, as long as it’s real to you.”
— Gerard Way
“Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask yourself if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.”
— Deepak Chopra
“We do not remember days. We remember moments.”
— Cesare Pavese
