I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and ignores us.
I am writing these words with tears streaming down my face. I can no longer bear this pain. My wife is suffering from a severe deficiency in vitamins, especially vitamin D, and she urgently needs surgery to save her life. Her body is growing weaker day by day, malnutrition is stealing her strength, and I stand helpless watching her suffer.
All I wish for is to see her alive and healthy. Please help us provide healthy food, her medications, and fund the surgery that could save her life.
Even if you cannot donate, please share this post. Every support, every word, could be the difference between her life and death.

the thing about capitalism is that at a certain point a product reaches its maximum audience and cant really be improved (at least not while remaining profitable), but capitalism requires a product provide infinite growth, and at that point the only way to increase profits is to raise prices, cut corners, and in the case of services start adding advertisements. this is just how the system works.
Rent-seeking is the act of growing one's existing wealth by manipulating the social or political environment without creating new wealth.[1] Rent-seeking activities have negative effects on the rest of society. They result in reduced economic efficiency through misallocation of resources, reduced wealth creation, lost government revenue, heightened income inequality,[2][3] risk of growing political bribery, and potential national decline.
The actual economic term for this parasitic behavior is "Rent Seeking", as in "charging you rent for things that didn't used to cost money just because we can."
I'm not sorry actually

Get DRINKED (don't tell the Philadelphians)
By existing as a citizen in and paying taxes to the imperial core, we automatically hold complicity in imperialist oppression because we are literally footing the bill for it. That is just the basic nature of being born to privilege in systems of oppression in general. We can be disadvantaged and marginalized in every single other consideration and we still have to understand and cope with this, and ensure we leverage it as effectively as possible.
Voting abstinence/sabotage does not absolve us of our responsibility to do everything in our power to lessen harm, but it DOES show that when our personal morals aren't satisfied, we retreat into (imperialist, this time) privilege to 'wash our hands' of the situation and declare it's not our fault and it's not our problem.
In other words “I know the trolley is gonna kill more people this way but the lever is icky and it’s more important that my hands don’t feel gross than it is that fewer people die. I’m a good person, watch me continue to shovel fuel into the trolley and preach against its trajectory while doing absolutely nothing about it”.

if the candidates hold the same views on issue 1, look at issue 2, and issue 3, and issue 4. you WILL find ways to differentiate them and find that one of them is more closely aligned with your views. it's not rocket science.
this is what everyone has been saying!! no one is looking at celebrities for political statements, but they should and must use their platform to amplify the voices of those who need and most importantly be against this genocide!!
Just to add a bit more context: the fundraiser Ariana shared was started by Nicola Coughlan. This is the second or third fundraiser Nicola has had since October and those only ended up getting about $10 - 25k, not that that isn't a huge amount of money. This fundraiser, however, is almost at $685k since I last checked, when I looked the other day (May 27th) it was sitting at around $23k. Nicola has only recently reached 4 million followers on IG, when she had fewer followers the fundraiser was able to reach a pretty humble amount of funds collected. When Ariana, with 379 million followers, shared this fundraiser, donations grew exponentially, about 2700% (my math may be a little off but you get the picture). Do you see what happens when people with large platforms and followings speak up? Mind you, sharing a link to a fundraiser is the bare bare bare minimum, but it is still something.
see the thing is. you can't just put out a full-length documentary of you detailing how you want to get more political and "be on the right side of history" for all the world to see and for your words to be immortalised only to go back into silence in the span of just a few years. putting out a documentary like that is a promise and it's one that she went back on

Basem Al-Khandaqji, a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jail, has won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his book, "A Mask, the Color of the Sky," which is about a Palestinian who takes on an Israeli’s identity.
He was unable to recieve the Prize as he was jailed for three life sentences from back in 2004. The person who recieved the reward on his behalf says Khandaqji smuggled the book out of jail page by page so as to avoid the suspicion of Israeli jailers.
The book is about a Palestinian archeologist who assumes an Israeli's identity after finding the Israeli's identity card in an old coat. Nur, the Palestinian, becomes the Jewish Israeli "Ur," and he travels through society to explore his occupiers way of life.
Israel has refused to allow Al-Khandaqji the cash prize, as they claim payment for terrorists is forbidden. However, the fact that Basem won this prize, which is called the "Arabic Booker" is outstanding in itself, considering the lengths he went through to write and publish the book.
This book is a testament to Palestinian resistance and art, showing the lengths Palestinians go through to make their voices heard, and the excellence of their crafts.
