Hello, I’m Kepler and I am a veteran role-player. I am dyslexic, so I will make typos occasionally. I attempt to catch them, but some slip by unnoticed. I apologize in advance.
Here are the ground rules for my blog:
*Minors are blocked on sight. I am sorry, I am not comfortable interacting with minors.
*You can reblog memes from me. I do not care. 👍
*I am mostly mutual exclusive. If we are not mutuals, you can still send in memes and I'll check out your blog.
*I am usually busy with work, so replies are slow.
*Shipping is okay by me. I do not have any ships with my character in mind, but if the chemistry is good then I am interested.
*NFSW topics may be be present. I am asexual, but I lean sex positive. I can try to rp sex, but I usually end up overwhelmed after a bit and mostly end up needing a fade to black.
About Below:
Name: Hook E. Cogswell
DOB: July 5th, 1837
DOD: Some time in 1870
Age: 33
Gender: He/Him
Sexuality: Gay
Height: 7'6"
Theme: Grandfather clock
Occupation: Maintaining the extermination clock.
Weapon of Choice: Webley Revolver and a clock-hand sword
Before Death:
Hook was born and raised during the Victorian era to a wealthy family in New York. He spent most of his life bed ridden due to a severer heart condition. He died at the age of 33 when he grew fed up with his family’s heirloom grandfather clock ticking day in and day out. It attempting to silence the large clock, he knocked it over and was crushed under its weight.
In Hell:
After his death, Hook found himself in hell and quickly grew accustomed to life there. Due to the nature of being a sinner, Hook was able to live live more freely than during his time among the living. As a hell-bound sinner, Hook’s chronic illness was almost entirely behind him. The only remnants of his condition being the need to wind up his clockwork heart once a week.
Hook considers his death a blessing and has even grown fond of clocks. This made him the prime candidate for maintaining the extermination clock. This job offers him some protection from the yearly exterminations. But not fully.
Personality:
Hook is a hedonist that chases the pleasures of hell that he was denied on earth. He enjoys smoking, drinking, sex, and even violence. He is posh, selfish, impatient, and has a short fuse.
"Like......have you not seen the news....lately...?"
This clock tower was basically defunct now. Nothing but a reminder of an old "agreement" that never should have been. Lucifer had always hated it- a mark on his Pride as the untouchable Ruler of Hell.
Now here he was, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck....
".....y-you got like a break room or-or a kitchenette or something here? Because you'll wanna sit down for this, and possibly need some calming tea too...."
"No... I haven't seen the news," he answered. He had been in here for the past day and a half, cleaning and calibrating the clock. He rarely watched the news following the exterminations. Now his mind was abuzz with possibilities.
Tock. Tick. Tock.
"I... yes, down stairs," Hook said, motioning for Lucifer to follow. He led the king of hell down several flights of stairs to a humble room fashioned into something of a living space. At the center was a quaint seating arrangement. He rarely saw visitors here.
Hook sat down and watched Lucifer as he waited with baited breath for the news, bouncing his leg with equal parts impatience and nervousness.
"Why would you do that?" Hook's brows furrowed as he straightened his posture. "I've gleaned that you don't care for us sinners, but would you really leave us without a warning for the exterminations?"
Tick. Tock. Tick.
Was his interest in this place really enough to stop the king from carrying out his plan, or was Lucifer merely placating him for the time being? Hook supposed it served him right for keeping this amnesty to himself, but it was alarming to hear nonetheless. Perhaps Lucifer was more like the devil he had heard stories of as a mortal man after all.
"What has changed to make you want to destroy this thing?"
"I can completely relate. Though, sinners should think that Heaven is the bee's knees- or whatever it is people say now. I'm always getting it wrong. Hehe.~"
"Perhaps every sinner should be envious of those who won a place in heaven, but being virtuous is not my style," Hook admitted. "I'm perhaps too indulgent for that."
Tock.
"Besides, I have it better than the average sinner thanks to this hulking time piece. So long as I am not outside the tower on extermination day, then I am safe."
"Cashmere, it's a pleasure Mr Hook"He assured him, glad to see the other was satisfied, taking his hand and shaking it gently. "Ah you're the one that keeps the clock going? It's a pleasure to meet you, and pish-posh, it was just a little decency, nothing more"
Cashmere refused to accept that helping someone mend their coat or helping them when in dire straits as anything more than the barest of minimums.
"Yes, but decency and hell seldom go hand in hand," Hook said with a wave of his hand. "In fact, I believe anyone else would have charged if they were in your position. Speaking of, may I buy you a drink as thanks?"
