see one of my problems w movies n tv shows is that they often show a character of like a scientist or a historian and try and make them extremely boring but that shit just doesnt work on me. theyll b like 'well in 13th century turkey...' n everyone will b like ughhh shut up professor dinglebarry no one cares and like. well excuse me. stop the movie. id like to hear more about 13th century turkey.
santos literally saved langdon’s life and career, but no one wants to talk about that bc you all hate women
damn, a girl cant be hyperbolic anymore
santos did not act maliciously when she reported langdon (that is people's misogyny and racism showing) nor was it out of the goodness of her heart and she was the catalyst that pushed langdon to go to rehab AND langdon is actively working towards recovery and should be commended for it; and he was endangering patients bc he was tampering with medication.
multiple things can exist at once, especially in a show where the writers have created beautifully complicated characters

i like that 13 reasons why's cultural impact is how poorly it handled suicide and sexual assault as well as inventing a new way for people to say they're going to kill themselves

"came back wrong" sure yeah that's cool i guess "came back suicidal" now you're talking
came back imprisoned by obligation to bear responsibility for the love and grief that others feel for you. came back painfully aware of the horror of existence. came back to a life you cannot bear to live anymore, to a body you cannot bear to call yours.
"you should watch this show!!" "what is it about?" "oh it's gay!"
this tweet is ruining my life rn
Dear video essay creators. A video analysis is when you analyze a piece of media. No no look at me. A summary, no matter how thorough, is not an analysis. An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. You have to stop summarizing something and saying that’s analysis. The Gaylors are doing more critical analysis than you. Is that who you want to lose to? The gaylors?
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE (2013) dir. Francis Lawrence
"Why didn't they just communicate?? They're so stupid!" Have you considered that communicating with someone you love and value and don't want to hurt is scary and that vulnerability takes practice and that perfect characters with perfect words make the most boring stories of all
Yearning for someone who doesn't exist
Or giving a monkey a shower
a story is true, a story is untrue

I just started black sails bc you put it on my dash enough and also Toby Stephens, and it’s exceLLENT (watched a season in a day) bUT is this a “gay” pirate show (the men yearn but never actually touch) or a GAY pirate show (certified fresh, homegrown, free range faggotry)
Thank u for yr time
I will happily answer this question for you but first you have to answer why the explicitly lesbian and bisexual women featured in the first season that you watched aren’t gay enough for you to classify this show as gay
Whenever I try and relate the core problem with the Barbie movie to somebody, I just say the phrase "BARBIE GENOCIDE MONUMENT". It's pretty much been burned into my brain from thinking about that one detail so much.
the implications of this are astounding. this is such a bizarre and perverse intersection of American chauvinism, Capitalism, and progressive aesthetics lacking any meaningful critique of anything. I am more preoccupied by this than anything else in the Barbie movie. The fact that nobody thought maybe this would come off this way is so damning.
