Mimsy remained unfazed, merely uttering a light chuckle and a silent nod of appreciation for the other’s stamina. After all, most lasted half the time he had. But that didn’t mean she’d let him leave just yet. With a few bounds of her short legs, she caught up with him, jogging to keep pace, “Talking in circles? I’d love to meet someone whose words are annular, but unfortunately mine are just linear. In other words, you’re wrong, and I’m right. Where are we going?”
Damien’s fists clenched at his side. Was he going to have to curse this girl to get her to go away. He stopped on the spot and turned to her, his eyes livid. “We aren’t going anywhere. I am going wherever I please, and you should go in the other direction unless you’re looking to be on the wrong side of my temper. I’ve had enough of…whatever it is you’re trying to do.”
Although it was certainly unwise, Mimsy stood her ground, too stubborn to simply obey. She mimicked his clenched fists, “Well, I’m sure glad I’m on the right side of it now! As for what I’m trying to do, well, I’m just trying to be friendly. You know, bond? You’re the one making it so difficult.”
