I really hope Nora writes the story she wants to tell. I really hope she doesn't feel she has to compromise her view to appease the fandom or a subset of it. This applies both for The Broken Cage and the Kevin books. I may not ship Kevin and Thea, but I'm excited to know her, to see how their relationship started and how they complement each other. Even if it's not my cup of tea, I'm willing to give a straight ship a chance lol. And idk, maybe we'll have a confirmation that Kevin is bi (we all know there's no hetero explanation for Kevin), and I wouldn’t mind if he ends up with Thea, as longs as it is interesting. Knowing Nora, it will be very, very interesting.
And hey, if we're sad that Kandreil or Kerejean or any other Kevin ship isn't canon, we can still fanfic our hearts away.
But I just really, really want Nora to do what she wants, and for us as fans of her and her work to respect that. I want her to have fun while writing, as her clear passion and enjoyment that gives these books that spice that we love so much. Whatever she has in store, I just can wait for it.
Absolutely. I might not like Thea, but if nora wants to flesh her out, I will read her top to bottom. So, nora, please write how you want it to go. It's your story, not ours. As op said, if we want it differently, we have fanfiction.

Like, I'm sorry, but the funniest & best thing to me in trans! Neil world is that for Butcher to have named him AFTER HIMSELF, Nathaniel would have come out as a child. And that's great. But the fact his serial killer dad was on board enough to rename him Nathaniel, to have him cut his hair, which he had to have done for Nathaniel to know he looked just like his father... Nathan had to be OK with his kid being trans.
And idk why, but the idea of The Butcher of Baltimore being an ally is fucking hilarious and absolutely brilliant to me. It's like that one mafia dude who supported his son being a drag queen. Or that Taliban guy who said they had to be conscious of climate change.

Thinking about how often Jean quotes Neil to himself to feel safe. Thinking about Jean saying to Jeremy you don’t have to trust him because I do. Thinking of how Nora said if Neil had been a raven when he was supposed to be he could have never left Jean alone even after Kevin did. Thinking about Neil and his ‘one of us has to survive this, and it’s going to be him’ mentality taking root and growing into everyone he cares about. Including Jean. Thinking about misplaced forever partners. Thinking about two kids who had no one but each other in every version of the story except for the one we got, so we see this fractured longing version instead and they’re so much better off, but there’s something missing too.
