Okay, unpopular opinion maybe but does tvl mostly fall flat for anyone else so far? The first two seasons had some of the most beautiful and emotionally resonant writing ever put to tv imo but this season, everyone is snarking at each other in Succession-esque monologues and it just doesn't emotionally connect for me. I found Lestat to be much more interesting in iwtv than in his own season. And while I haven't personally read the books, the book version of Gabriella sounds like a fascinating character who could've been used to explore gender issues and the restrictive societal expectations around womanhood and motherhood (esp as they were in the past) but what we actually got feels... kinda shallow?
I will say that the flashbacks to Nicky and Lestat's turning we saw in ep.3 were great but it is kinda sad to me that we're more than halfway into this season and have so far only gotten a handful of scenes I'd consider riveting or on par with the previous seasons.
The Devil's Minion-crumbs are giving me life though.
