Was admiring the sun about to set down the grand view of park avenue when my solace was invaded with sharp buzzing sounds. I looked around but could not figure out what was making that sound. I did see a big moth like creature feeding on a nearby wild flower and decided to take this video. With my camera focus fixed on the big bug my eyes found something incredible entering the frame and that’s when I knew where that buzz was from. However I captured this in slow mo so the original buzz was deformed which I replaced with this beautiful song. Everything great takes it’s time. With my head rested on the red rock, I did see a million stars through the arches above but I knew it would take time to view something incredible that’s lurking in the stars and the blackness around. To armor my pupils with super sight all they needed a few mins of complete darkness. Minutes later my eyes opened to a whole new universe. The best thing when driving in Colorado is that you are never far from Wildlife. A big sign on the interstate said “scenic overlook” and I thought, well let’s take a brake and this is what I turned my car into. In that pitch darkness my eyes adjusted to see the stars floating in the black ocean above us but I was still blind to the formations in front of me. Using a small head lamp and the distant starlight I adjusted my focus and clicked the shutter. 30 secs later my view for the park changed completely. It was our home even before we could build one for ourselves. The soft grass was our bed, the vast forests our working grounds and our ceiling was engraved with stars. The seasons brought us groceries while the lakes and rivers washed us and kept us waterlogged. There was only one mother before her children drew lines on her and divided themselves into clans, color, class and religion. She has been feeding us from her breast and we have not even stopped to thank her. So on this Mother’s Day for Mother Earth, let’s pledge not to take her love for granted, for her love is immense but her wrath will be fierce. #happyearthday🌎 My eyes gently opened as the cool breeze gathered warmth from the rising sun. The glow ran upwards my body and felt like warm shower running down my skin on a cold day. I pushed my head out the window scavenging the passenger seat for my camera. The Bison were now crossing the plain, herds of them. The adult leading the way, the mothers looking out for their calves and the children frolicking, occasionally turning to stare at the cars with long lenses peeping out the windows. After hours of driving I finally reached Canyonlands,Moab, around 1 am, checked my weather app and saw the sunrise there was at 7:14 am. 6 more hours to go, so I put my car in park, adjusted the seat until it was almost flat, with my legs around the wheel and my head engulfed in starlight beaming through the wide moon roof, I slumbered into sleep. At seven my obnoxious and effective alarm blared through the car speakers and my eyes opened wide in an instant. Am I late? I raced to the Mesa arch trail head. The morning light had weaved with the darkness of the night and everything was just beginning to get visible. I grabbed my camera, pushed a bottle of water in my cargo, wrapped around a muffler and started walking to the arch biting on a granola bar. Halfway through the trail, I could already see the vast landscape and the small arch slowly coming to light. Photographers were already in place with their wide angle lenses and tripods set to capture the beams of the rising sun. I see u. Winding through the curvy roads of Rocky Mountains we started hearing a unique whine.
