Can we just take a moment to appreciate the difference in my coats- I was way too heavy-handed with the paint on my first one. On my second one, I finally got a hold of some fabric spray paint and it looks worlds better imo. The first coat just looked sloppy altogether and I just didn't really like it, and that's okay! Mistakes happen, and that's how we learn. I could've given up on this, but I decided to give it another try, and I'm glad I did. Is it perfect? Hell no, and it never will be. It will always have flaws and that's absolutely fine by me.

All gacha game monetization should be replaced with the warframe model, where the only buy-in stuff is cosmetics and in order to get the cool new girl you gotta farm specific gameplay for the CAD blueprints for her brain, organs and skeleton so you can 3D print a clone of her to join your team.

Arknights already has the in-universe groundwork laid to make this work, it's just a form of existential horror that people are gonna have to get used to.

If Ordis has that one Voiced line you can request him to play for you… does that mean he records all conversations he has access to? And if so, does that mean the Operator/Drifer could request he play them back when they end to listen to them?

It would be nice to experience past events not related to main quest lines. Like when you first meet the Entrati Family!

I just… really like rewatching cutscenes that have already passed. Experiencing those tender moments or the funny bits. This game makes everything feel final in a way. Even if I can replay most of the quests I would still like to rewatch other cutscenes. Refresh myself on the how’s and whys after being away for so long

Imagine having a little console in the Private Quarters where you can access Ordis’s Archives. Listen to short conversations shared over coms. Rewatch cutscenes as you “recall in vivid detail” while Ordis plays the recorded voices.

warframe, in a balance and design sense, is the mtg commander of live service games. theoretically there's a highly-demanding version you can play that calls for you to be very optimized, and in practice that ends up being a pretty small slice of what is actually played, and the designers mostly aren't thinking about that space very much. mostly they are thinking about adding new levers for mechanical expressiveness because letting people play any kind of power fantasy they want has proven to be more broadly appealing than a tightly balanced play space.

the number of levers and their permutations also creates a number of treadmills for players to invest their playtime/money to improve their favorite frame/deck. in particular I think about how your improving your mod economy via polarization can empower and expand your build options just like how buying into a better manabase can improve things across every turn of play and make faster curves possible. the warframe devs also seem to be getting better over time at offering more side grades of various options. a healthy library of options is the foundation for one of EDH's great pleasures, because selecting exactly which 2-drop mana dork is best for your deck from a scryfall search is fun! warframe reworks that have brought things more into line power-wise, like the pet rework, seek to encourage greater player expressiveness in this regard by easing pressure on efficiency, and it seems to be working.

what's interesting is that warframe is also a game where it's totally possible for a single player to do the whole mission themself in like 95% of content. this totally prevents the development of the unappealing "you have to let everyone show off their deck" vibe you sometimes get around commander, but also means warframe can never really incorporate one of commander's great pleasures: making three people sit there and pay close attention as you make your deck do the funny or cool or interesting thing your deck was made to do. on the other hand, mtg can't make you look at your commander's butt all the time and monetize off that. there's always trade-offs.

I’m a big big fan of how Warframe devs genuinely want their game to be fun. They make some things op just bc it’s fun. They give a frame the ability to put mushrooms everywhere that you can bouncy on bc??? That’s so silly and fun

Oh here’s a challenge where you have to be very careful and get to the end before time runs out. Here is a frame that can shrink to the size of a bug and just fly through it.
