Money Tips
Hey everyone! My husband and I are in a bit of a bind after I had to go to the hospital. Iām selling dresses in my hometown to try and make $40 for gas. In case it doesnāt work out like I hope does anyone have any helpful tips for making a quick buck? Iād appreciete it greatly. Hereās some pictures of my expiremntal apt garden. For your viewing entertainment. I decided to plant a carrot and a leek. They are coming along nicely so far.
My best friend and I posing with the fruit of our labors. The boys werenāt allowed in this one, because they watched anime all day XD
Thanksgiving prep
Homemade cranberry sauce. Added Rasperries along with orange to keep the tart flavor with natural sweetness. Uses less sugar :)
New home for my marimo balls!

Trooping funnels (Clitocybe geotropa)
These tall funnels can be distinguished from common funnels (Clitocybe gibba) by their longer stems, firmer flesh, solid stem, and lack of wavy margin at the edge of the cap. Though you should always aim for a positive identification, distinguishing between these two is not strictly essential, as common funnels are also edible.
The cap of this mushroom is firm and substantial, making it a good edible, though relatively flavourless. It was delicious, however, cooked into a pumpkin and sage risotto with a few oyster mushrooms I also found along the way.
Flora and Sylva
Today we present wood engravings by John DePol from California Flora by Elizabeth McClintock published as a keepsake by The Book Club of California in San Francisco in 1995. The book was edited by Donald R. Fleming, designed by Susan Acker of the Feathered Serpent Press, and printed with James Wehlage at The Press in Tuscany Alley. The floral portraits were printed from John DePolās original wood engravings. Our copy is another splendid gift from our friend and benefactor, Jerry Buff.
Donald R. Fleming wrote in the introduction to California Flora:
āFortunately not all of the great natural treasures of California have been covered over by indiscriminate ādevelopment,ā asphalt, or industry. Huge fields of colorful wildflowers still carpet the gently rolling north-eastern foothills that rise from the floor of the Sacramento Valley to the high Sierra bringing to same feeling of exhilaration and awe to todayās motorist that must have pervaded the minds and thoughts of the early settlers and explorers.
In 1846, John C. Fremont, noting the profusion of California poppies, wrote: āIt is the characteristic bloom of California at this season, and the Bear River bottoms near the hills were covered with it.ā From the spectacular displays of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to the equally brilliant diversity of the flower-covered hills and valleys of the Point Reyes Peninsula, California is without parallel in its quantity and diversity of wildflower beauty.ā

when the times get rough and I lose sight of the goal i just. rereadĀ āthe orangeā by wendy cope again & remember. thatās where Iām going folks. sooner or later, whatever it takes.
At lunchtime I bought a huge orangeā The size of it made us all laugh. I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Daveā They got quarters and I had a half.
And that orange, it made me so happy, As ordinary things often do Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park. This is peace and contentment. Itās new.
The rest of the day was quite easy. I did all the jobs on my list And enjoyed them and had some time over. I love you. Iām glad I exist.

This warms my heart ^.^
what is it about rain that makes worms go absolutely buck wild for pavement
worm: no longer can i suffer the constriction, both of flesh and soul, of living in the tunnels of underground, for i now long only to be free under the skies of the Saints. earth may have birthed me but the sun is my mother
me, holding a slurpee, plucking worms off the sidewalk and tossing them into the grass: go the fuck home brian
The soil is being filled with water. They come to the sidewalk to freaking breath, Brad.
Could you please reblog this if you are a witch who isnāt Wiccan?
Depends on your definition for sure. I like to refer to myself as striving botonist with awareness of life energy.
Iām reading this thing about how farmers in Japan considered thunderstorms to be good luck because theyād make more mushrooms grow so some Japanese scientists created this lil electrical machine that they wheeled through the forest administering shocks to the ground to simulate lightning strikes and the areas that they shocked yielded twice as many mushrooms as unshocked plots of land ā”ļøš
https://blog.mycology.cornell.edu/2013/01/20/zap-lightning-gods-and-mushrooms/
the fact that we reached a point where we can simulate fake storms to make little buddies grow twice as much is like magic but slightly to the left and just down right delightful
Lil buddy I found this weekend. Very pretty
No more UV light for this morning
Move myself and plants to the living with natural (but cloudy lighting)
My Venus flytraps dinner from last night attempts to escape
I doubt myself as a good plant mother and future botanist
Search for a kind botonist advisor to explain what I did wrong
Thinks about school. Am I at the right school for my studies? Where will my passions take me.
Calls school. Finds out my major might not even be there anymore. (Thatās fine I wanted to focus more on botony than ecology now anyways)
Makes appt for tomorrow with advisor. Nervous.
In search of a botanist mentor
Iām very passionate about plants and studying them, but Iām still a sophomore. Iām not sure what I need to do to be the best botanist I can be. I know the classes I need to take, but not sure what social connections I should start making or even where my future passions will thrive best. Any advice will be amazing.
I have a vision for my future that I refuse to let go of
