Ok so imagine if Castiel had kept or maintained his original vessel of a young woman (and relative to Jimmy Novak, probably).
Castiel would lose the conservative dress of the 1910s and look a bit more modern, like this:
Everything plays out like it does, just he’s a she (presumably, as angels are indifferent to gender). Put aside the fact that the dynamic between Dean and a female Cas would’ve been different for many reasons.
Let’s assume that events still played out exactly as they did. Wouldn’t you think they were totally in love?
She pulled him out of hell and introduced him to a world with angels. She repeatedly sacrificed everything for him. She died for him. He stayed in Purgatory an extra year because he wouldn’t leave without her. When she’s not okay, his top priority is helping her. They make mistakes but always find their way back to each other, with forgiveness and support. When he’s in trouble, she will do what it takes to end the problem. She knows when he’s upset and needs to talk. He knows when she’s lost patience and is about to go angel someone. They understand each other. She represents faith for him. She heals him, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Frequently, there’s intense and emotional gazing at each other, communicating without words, and being in each other’s personal space. The “one looks at the other, who’s looking away, and then vice versa” thing that shows they’re thinking about each other.
People’s jokes - “she was your girlfriend first” “the angel in the trench coat who’s in love with you” “thought you were attached at the… everything.”
So y'all saying that there’s nothing going on or nothing that could suggest it happening in the future? That there’s not even a possibility?
If so I call bs because two hot young people with killer chemistry and a bond like this??
