In the last two days Croatia was struck by more than 20 earthquakes, most serious ones struck: Monday (28.12) at 6:28 (M5.1), Monday (28.12) at 7:49 (M4.7) and Tuesday (29.12) at 12:19 (M6.4).
They were all near towns Petrinja and Sisak, but they were felt throughout Croatia and even in Austria.
So far there have been reported 7 deaths, one of which is a 12 year old girl. (source here// timeline of today’s happenings)
So far many people have been hospitalized.
Unfortunately some parts of hospital in Sisak have been destroyed in the earthquake so patients were/are being transfered to Zagreb.
You can see the moment the earthquake hit here.
I can still feel the earth shaking a bit (or maybe thats just the aftershock).
There have been reports of another earthquake 12 kilometers southwest of Zagreb at 18:21 (M3,3).
Another earthquake struck near Sisak and Petrinja at 18:43 with magnitude of 3,9.
An earthquake (M3.8) struck 9 kilometers southwest of Sisak at 20:31.
Yesterday between 12:19 and 18:00 there have been 16 earthquakes most of them with a magnitude around 3 (none of them with a magnitude less than 3). All had epicenters near Petrinja and Sisak.
There was an earthquake at 21:31 with magnitude of 3.1, epicenter 15 kilometers from Sisak.
People whose homes were destroyed, were put in barracks in Petrinja. There, employees of the Red cross are taking care of them.
At 6:15 there was another earthquake (M4.9) with an epicenter 16 kilometers northwest of Sisak. It was followed by two earthquakes of magnitude 4.8 (time: 6:26) and 3.9 (time: 6:29).
