"I am so ready for 2014 to be over. Out with the old, in with the new."
"Thank god that Christmas is fuckin’ over."
"It is nice to have the stress of Christmas over with, but it is still sad to see it go."
Well, I don’t know about anthropocentric.  Human life is pretty easily extinct when you lose the vegetation that coats the planet.  Nothing for the animals to eat that we eat, and nothing for the humans themselves to eat.  I would say it’s likely the more important of the options.  Take away humans, plants and animals still survive.  Take away animals, and the plants and humans still survive.  Take away plants… well neither can truly survive and the planet itself would die.  Just a thought.
I know you said that the others are not lesser and I’m not saying you, yourself, should focus on the plant aspect.  If your interest is in humans, then you should certainly run with it.  Assuming they’re the more important of the options is a bit misguided though.  I would argue we need to keep our eye closer to our little green planet savers and how to help them strive.  By default, we are also then helping our own survival.
I cans see where you are coming from. It is true that people cannot survive without plants, but humans take the presences of vegetation to provide for ecological and social needs as a given. People do not realize what vegetation provides them until they destroy it.
I did not mean to imply that I thought the human option was the most important. I merely meant that it was the option where I personally could do the most good, because it is the area I am most passionate in.
"I actually don’t…so I’m expecting the really short ones to be left or the super large ones that are made for houses with no roof. It’s fine, it’ll work its self out if not, I guess putting a tree up in heels is the new thing."
"Oh? Do you need help? I’m supposed to be finding a present for a sciency guy, I don’t know where to start.”
"Well you might be in trouble then. I mean you could always get a fake tree, but where is the Christmas spirit in that?"
"Hmm sciency guy? There is a lot of stuff for that. If nothing else you can get him some he can take apart and put back together again."
Ah so you’ve just begun.  Well, once the prereqs are out of the way, you’ll really start delving in.  Sleep deprivation and stress will set in, in no time at all.  Really, something to look forward to.  Given you said body, I guess it’s safe to assume you want to focus on more human biology than anything?
I’m Pamela, by the way.  I don’t think I’ve said.
That is what all of the upperclassmen tell me. But seeing as that I already survive on caffeine alone, I'm not sure what college can through at me that is worse. I do prefer the human aspect, as I think I can do the most good in that realm, not so say that any other sphere is lesser than the anthropocentric one.
It is nice to meet you Pamela. My name is Peter.
You are quite the optimist aren’t you?  My shop is still new, but perhaps one day it will be inspire people enough to take a bit more notice to the things that make the Earth so green.
Biomechanical engineering can definitely be a fascinating subject. Â It can also be a rather challenging one. Â How far along are you?
Nothing wrong with being hopeful. Sometimes that all we have.
It is really fascinating, but this is my first year studying at university so I am stuck in prereqs for now.
I suppose so…… we’ll see.  Not a lot of people have much interest in flowers in general.  Biomechanical Engineering?  Really?  What got you interested in a field like that?
I think that is a shame. You need to have the flower shop that changes that! Bring flowers into the mainstream.
I have always been a science nerd. Biomechanical engineering just seemed like the best fit. It combines the body and engineering.
Oh!  Well that’s more interesting than some little ol’ flower shop.  What sort of photography?  What are you going to school for?
There you go. You have to have a gimmack to make people want to come back! I mainly do work for local news papers so, trying to catch action while it is happening. Although I enjoy taking scenic shots of the city. I am majoring in biomechanical engineering.
I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily getting away with it.  But yes, I more meant taking a page from their book on branding.  How much a little flower shop needs in way of branding I’m not sure.  Most people don’t even think of flowers unless it’s some anniversary or holiday.  Not that I mind too much, gives me a chance to really plan when I’ll be busy and time to do other things.  Like make fun of the holiday decorations around the city.  What do you do?
I guess you could try to brand yourself as flowers not just for the holidays, but everyday. That might get you a little more business. Personally I am a university student who does freelance photography to pay for university.
I don’t know whether to be inspired to attempt it with my flower shop, or gag at the idea of how much I would loathe myself for doing anything remotely similar.
I would say that this is something that only Wayne can get away with, without looking too conceited. You run a flower shop though? That is pretty cool. I would suggest more subtle branding though.
I suppose if people are talking you’ve accomplished something, but the 10 foot tree covered in their company logo is a tad bit…. what’s the word?
"Obnoxious? I don't think anyone can say that Wayne Industries are not well branded."
"Ah ha! Here we have the main culprit of the holidays. I can’t talk much however, I am now scrambling to find all the decorations and one gift left. What are you shopping for?"
"Hopefully you have your tree already, or else you aren't going to be able to find a good one left. I am still trying to find a gift for my Aunt. It needs to be perfect."
This has got to be… the most gaudy and awful Christmas display I’ve ever seen.  What is Wayne Enterprises thinking?
"Probably a grab for attention. Tacky and awful are normally a good way to be memorable."
"Christmas shopping is ridiculous this year, I didn’t think everyone would be waiting till the last minute to shop."
"Sorry I am one of those people you are complaining about. Almost Christmas and I still haven't finished my shopping."
"You would think I would learn from experience, but I always end up leaving my Christmas shopping until the last minute."
"How unfortunate.”
"Is something wrong?"
"I just found this hat. What do you think? Keep it or toss it?"
"I think it is definitely a keeper. It is the holiday season after all."
