This photo shows the position of the sun every twenty minutes on the shortest day of the year in 1935 overlooking the snow-covered houses of Fairbanks, Alaska. John Coulson Percy Skottowe, an employee of the news photo service World Wide Photos, took 11 exposures of the sun from 9:52am until it disappeared at 2:04pm.
