Ryan Hamrick’s Last PGH Dribbble Meetup

I've had some of the absolute best times of my life at our Dribbble meetups, guys. From the screenprinting party at Commonwealth on my birthday last year, to the BYOBBBQ at my house, and the 40+ turnout at Emporio in February. What do you say we have one more amazing time together before I make the trek down to Austin next month, huh? Latitude 40, for those that aren't familiar, is an awesome venue in the Robinson area (I know that's a bit of a drive for some of you, but I live out here, and I've only asked you guys to come out this way once, lol) that has bars, bowling, awesome food, a cigar bar even, and a rooftop patio where we'll probably be hanging out mostly. NEW MEETUP: Monday, February 17th at Sienna Mercato

Why hello there, you beautiful designers of Pittsburgh, you. It's been a while. Since the BYOBBBQ at my house last July, to be exact. Some of you I've seen several times since then, and others I haven't seen at all. Not cool! So, I decided that enough time has passed now and we're officially LONG overdue for a killer get-together. And wouldn't you know it, this past week just so happens to have marked the official grand opening of Sienna Mercato in the Cultural district, the amazing new restaurant I had the great pleasure of working on the branding for with Wall-to-Wall last summer. Next Monday, the 17th, let's meet at Sienna's Emporio—the "Meatball Joint" on the first floor of the soon-to-be three-story restaurant—at around 6:30pm. We can talk design, eat some incredible meatballs (vegetarian and gluten-free options available too, guys!) and drink some of the THIRTY-TWO available draft beers on tap until about 9pm or so. Cool? Oh, and I almost forgot. Dribbble's announcement the other day that Shopify has signed on as it's official global meetup sponsor for 2014 brings us some more good news: I'll have cash burning a hole in my pocket that they'd love nothing more than for me to buy you all drinks with. Seriously. I dare you to miss this. As always, you don't necessarily have to be a Dribbble user to come (though, if you're a designer of any kind, and you're not using Dribbble, make sure you don't leave without letting me tell you all the reasons you should be). Or even if you're just someone who needs/wants to talk to Pittsburgh designers for a project, there won't be a better time to find a gang of them all in one place until probably our next meetup, so the more, the merrier. I can't wait to see all your awesome faces again (and maybe, in small part, show off the work I did for the venue's identity #humblebrag). Our July meetup is still on for tonight in my (Ryan Hamrick) backyard!

The weather forecast doesn’t look *perfect* for tonight, but we’ll be having it either way. I’ve got plenty of room for us inside if it comes to that, so don’t let any potential rain keep you away.

As a reminder, this is a bring your own food and drink event. I’ve got a grill to cook up any meat you come with, and your welcome to bring any sides or whatever else you like, too.

The good folks from Duolingo are officially sponsoring this meetup and will be in attendance with some food, drinks, and even t-shirts for anyone that wants some!

My amazing wife Brooke and I will have some extra food fixed up as well.

PGH Dribbble X Commonwealth Press - March Meetup

The March Dribbble meetup is on! It's been a couple months, but we're back, and better than ever. We're teaming up with Commonwealth Press in South Side for what should easily be our biggest and best PGH Dribbble meetup yet. The date is next Monday, March 11th. We'll all meet at the Commonwealth Warehouse (not the store) at 6:30pm. "What kind of meetup can you really have at a warehouse, there's not even a bar there!" you might be saying to yourself. Well, first of all, you look really weird over there talking at your screen, let's just be honest about that for a second. Don't worry, though, this meetup will surely involve drinks. But more importantly, we have activities planned, as well. As you read this, I'm furiously hashing out a design for a PGH Dribbble t-shirt. These won't be "for sale", per se, but anyone that DMs the @pghdribbble Twitter account with an RSVP and American Apparel shirt size by the end of the day tomorrow, can bring $10.00 to the meetup, and hand-pull your own screenprinted PGH Dribbble t-shirt, designed by yours truly (Ryan Hamrick, for anyone not paying full attention). If we're not following you, don't be a dork. Let us know, and we will so you can get your DM in. I've also just received word that Dribbble is rush-delivering some official Dribbble swag to give away that night as well. Oh yeah, and the beer's on me, you guys. If we drink it all, or if I just get tired of it and decide that it's bourbon time, we can all walk to the nearest bar or something. Let's make this one huge, you guys. Due to the conflict with September's Refresh Pittsburgh meetup tomorrow night, I decided to reschedule ours. Then, when trying to figure out a different date, I quickly realized that everyone else's September was just about as crazy as mine. So here we are, bumped into October. If any of you guys want to meet before then for drinks or something by all means, let's do it.

September Meetup

The September Dribbble meetup that would have normally been today has been bumped to next Monday, the 10th. Just as Val predicted I had several people tell me they would be out of town or traveling today, so this seemed like the best solution. Next month, we should be able to hit the first Monday again, and hopefully it'll be in Jay's swank new bar above Union Pig & Chicken. But for now, here's the details for next week! Monday, September 10th at 7pm Bocktown Beer and Grill (in Robinson by Target) RSVP at the official Meetup page and be there!

So yeah, disregard the timing in the last post. Obviously, I was kidding myself thinking I could ever get something done in the same week that I originally planned to. Here it is. New PGH Dribbble Site

What's up, Pittsburgh Dribbblers? Hamrick here. So I finally got this site thrown together so we can have one go-to spot for Dribbble meetup news and announcements. Didn't have a ton of time to really dig around, so I just grabbed a free theme and spent about an hour or so chopping it up to look similar to the official Dribbble blog (I'm no front-end wiz, guys, so don't laugh too hard out there, okay?). Anyway, I'll be posting details about our first meetup very soon, hopefully tomorrow morning or even tonight, if I'm feeling particularly ambitious. I just wanted to toss something up here to let you guys know it was here. If you're on Tumblr, feel free to follow this site and like stuff. In fact, like this post at least, and then we can all follow our fellow PGH Dribbblers on Tumblr, too. Catch up with you guys in a bit. ~H
