06. Don't be delusional
At some point the quiet of your room had stopped feeling peaceful and started feeling irritating. Everything felt too still, too slow, like the world had decided to pause and with it the summer heat arrived at the same time.
You weren't much of a summer person, loving the cold seasons, but the heat at this point was kicking you out from your own home!
"Okay" you muttured, already slipping your shoes on "we're going outside."
No plan, no destination, just walking wherever the warm wind takes you.
That was how you ended up standing infront of a bakery you'd passed a hundred times before but never really paid attention to.
The window display looked warm, soft colors, neatly arranged pastries, something about this whole place felt so easy and calming.
The bell chimed as you stepped inside and immediately, the air shifted, the shop was cold and the smell of sugar and fresh bread reached you, it wrapped around you in a very relaxing way.
You exhaled, stepping into line, letting your eyes wander over the menu without focusing.
"Something sweet" you murmur to yourself. "That's all we need, nothing dramatic"
You stayed in line waiting for your turn, looking at the menu and displayed options, everything looked so good, shame you we're broke and couldn't get the whole bakery in a big box.
"Next!" you blinked, realizing you were already at the counter.
"Oh! uhh" you glanced quickly at the display, picking the first thing that looked appealing "Can i get that one? and a coffee"
"Name?"
You gave it quietly, tapping your card against the reader before stepping aside.
It didn't take long for silence to settle back in, it wasn't uncomfortable, jut there.
You shifted your weight slightly, leaning against the counter as you waited, pulling your phone out without unlocking it.
Thats when you noticed someone next to you, not close enough to be strange but close enough to be aware of.
You adjusted slightly, your elbow nearly brushing against his sleeve and frowned faintly.
Was he always standing that close?
"Are you in line?"
The voice came from right beside you.
You turned, caught a little off guard. "What?"
He nodded towards the counter, hands still tucked in the pockets of his pants.
"You were standing here."
"Oh!" you stepped back a bit, shaking your head "No, i already ordered, you can go."
a small pause.
"...right"
He moved forwards, taking your place, his shoulder brushing yours for just a second as he passed.
You looked away quickly, focusing very hard on your phone screen even though it hadn't changed.
"Can i get pomegranate milk" He paused, deciding what to have "And that strawbery pastry."
This stranger is oddly specific with his drinking of choice.
"Name?"
"Mydei."
Your brain stopped working for a minute, it has to be another mydei, it cannot be THE mydei standing just a few inches from you right?
Your eyes looked back at the man but really looked this time, you couldn't see much, he wore a black mask and black glasses, but the blonde with redish ends and the way he stood like he didn't really belong to the space but wasn't trying to leave either gave it a little away.
Your chest tightened a little.
Don't be delusional, why would he be here? In a random bakery? Ordering drinks?
Minutes passed and you couldn't take your eyes off of him, trying to see whats behind that mask with just your eyes alone, there were thousands of people who looked like that, literally thousands.....
"You're staring..."
"What- no,i'm not!" you said quickly, looking away just to look back at him once more.
He looked at you, one eyebrow raised slightly.
"You are."
"I wasn't" you insisted, even though yeah, you were staring but who wouldn't look at a pretty guy? "I just thought you looked like someone."
Wow you're so stupid you could turn into a mash potato right now, he clearly looks like the man you thirst over...
Silence settled between the two of you before your order was called, you stepped forward immediately, grateful for the interruption, taking the small box and drink.
"Thanks"
You turned towards the door, already halfway out before something made you pause, you glance back, he was still there, waiting but this time he was already looking at you, not very obvious but not accidental either.
Your fingers tightned slightly around your cup before you looked away again, pushing the door open and stepping back outside.
The warm air hit your face, the bell chimed behind you and just like that it was over.
You stood there for a moment staring down at your drink.
"You're actually insane, delusional, crazy" you muttured under your breath.
Because it wasn't him, it couldn't have been, that would be ridiculous...right?
But if it was...oh boy you just looked like a fool.
...
"Pomegranate milk and Strawberry cake for Mydei"
He stepped forwards, taking the cup, Phainon catched up to him after flirting with half the women in the store.
"Soooo you knew the girl?"
Mydei didn't look up. "Nope"
"Sure, you were staring buddy"
"She looked familiar that's all, surely you can't be talking after swooning half of the female population in this bakery alone?"
Phainon gasped before rolling his eyes.
Mydei didn't explain further, didn't try to, because the truth was, he didn't know why the girl looked familiar, and for some reason, that bothered him more than it should have.

05. Same spot, same crowd
Mydei, what to say about the biggest rockstar out there? he spent most of his life in his garage composing music, in hope of finding a spark of light that would turn into a big rockstar group, at first he didn't really have a purpose , he just thought it was a fun little idea that maybe in some way, could turn into something bigger.
He hadn't expected it to become his.
Now, he sat quietly in his room, the noise of a big crowd long gone, replaced by something far more quiet. Fan notes lay scattered in front of him, folded paper and rushed handwriting, pieces of strangers thoughts left behind after the show.
For a long time, he had told himself none of it mattered, it was just music, a noise he created, something he happened to be good at.
But his fingers hovered over one of the notes unmoving, maybe, somewhere along the way, he had found a purpose after all....
He hadn't planned on reading them.
Even when Phainon had mentioned it earlier, it had sounded more like a suggestion than anything else...but again when did mydei ever listen to the white haired?
There were easier ways to understand what people though, a quick glance at his phone would've told him everything he needed to know, numbers climbing, comments repeating the same love phrases, clips spreading faster than he could keep track of.
That had always been enough, more than enough but this, this was different.
His fingers brushed against the edge of the nearest note before he picked it up, unfolding it without much thought, The paper was slightly creased, like it had been folded and unfolded more than once before it ended up here.
His eyes moved across the words.
"I don't know if you'll ever read this, but i wanted to write it anyway.
I've been listening to your music for a while now and i don't think i've ever found something that sound the way it feels, if that even makes sense.
There were a lot of people at the concert, i know that.
Still, i think i'll remember if for a long time.
Thank you for the music and the years you spent on this!"
He didn't react, read it once, read it twice then folded it back carefully and set it aside, just for another note to replace it, then another.
They began to blur together after a while, not because they were identical, but because they carried the same feeling...excitement pressed into ink, thoughts written too quickly to stay neat, emotions that didn't fit into words but tried anyway.
Some were shorter, barely a few lines, others stretched longer, stories wover between sentences, pieces of someone's life shared without hesitation, mydei read them all the same way, quietly and carefully.
The room around him faded into the background, the distant noise of movement and conversation dulling into something indistinct, time passed without him noticing.
He didn't rush but one of the notes made his hand pause, the note didn't look any different from the others, same paper, same kind of fold, nothing that stood out at first glance.
"I noticed your glance maybe i'm crazy and it probably meant nothing"
His gaze remained on the paper, tracing the envolope without realizing it.
It wasn't unfamiliar, the feeling or the moment, it lingered at the edge of his memory.
The stage, red lights, the crowd that blurred into one and...a pause , his grip on the note tightened slightly before he exhaled, the tension easing just as quickly as it had come, it didn't mean anything, the feeling that is, it couldn't.
Moments like this happened all the time, glances, shifts, things that looked like something from the outside but weren't. It was easy to misunderstand things in a crowd like that, easy to think something was directed at you when it wasn't.
He knew that, He had always known that.
Still his eyes lingered on the last line for a little longer, then he folded the note more carefully than others.
Instead of placing it back with the rest, he set it slightly to the side, separate without thinking much of it.
"You're actually reading them?" Phainon's voice broke through the quiet as he stepped back into the room, a bottle of water in hand. He paused when he noticed the small pile beside Mydei, then raised an eyebrow.
"Huh"
Mydei didn't look up. "You literally told me to."
"Yeah well, i didn't think you'd listen."
A quiet beat passed between them, Phainon leaned slightly against the table, glancing over the notes before his attention shifted. "Find anything interesting?"
Mydei's gaze flickered towards the one set apart from the others, then back at the others.
"....Not really"
Phainon hummed, unconvinced but not pressing. "Right"
The room settled again after that, the conversation fading as quickly as it had started, Phainon moved on, distracted by something else, leaving Mydei where he was.
Alone and Quiet, his hand rested near the edge of the table, fingers brushing lightly against the folded note without unfolding it again.
He didn't reread it, he already knew what it said and yet his gaze drifted, unfocused, like he was trying to remember something just out of reach.
This shouldn't matter, this person he didn't even remember shouldn't matter and yet, this note is tormenting him like it should matter.

03. Red Lights
The concert ended way to quickly.
One moment the music was loud enough to make the ground shake and the next it was over.
The crowd erupted into applause, cheers echoing through the venue as the band stepped back, silhouettes blurring together under the stage lights, people shouted their names, voice overlapping, desperate to hold onto the momento just a little longer.
You stood there, your ears rang faintly, a soft, constant hum that made everything feel slightly distand, around you, people were already starting to move, the tightly packed crowd slowly loosening as the show officially came to an end.
Cipher said something but you didn't catch it, your eyes fixated on the stage at where he had been standing, the space felt a little empty now, to empty.
"Hellooo!" Cipher nudged you again, a little harder this time. "You ok?"
You blinked, he sound of their voice finally cutting through the noise "oh yeah sorry" you said automatically, even though it didn't feel entirely true.
You were fine, just not quite steady yet.
It was probably the adrenaline or the fact that you had just experienced something you'd been looking forward for days, that had to be it anot nothing more.
You forced yourself to move, letting the crowd guide you as people started making their way towards the exits, the energy changed completely, still a little loud and alive but now people spoke over eachother, replaying their favourite moments out loud.
You mind kept replaying the glance Mydei gave you, something so small it shouldn't matter but yet it did mattered and it lingered.
The air outside felt cooler.
Groups of people still lingered near the venue, still riding the high of the concert.
You stepped away from the crowd instinctively, putting a little distance between yourself and noise.
Cipher was yapping about the setlist, about how good everything sounded live, you nodded along, you agreed when it felt just right.
But you we're so distracted, it was just a glance it wasn't suppost to mean anything to you, there were too many people for something like that to be real, too many variables, too many reasons why it couldn't have meant anything at all.
And yet, your chest tightened slightly at the memory, you let out a quiet breath, staring down at your phone, you were overthinking,
Later that night, lying in bed, the silence felt louder than the concert had.
Your room was dart, the faint glow of your phone the only light in the space as you scrolled aimlessly, not really reading anything you were looking at.
Your ears had mostly stopped ringing by now.
But something else hadn't, you picture it clearly, the way the lights hit the stage, the way he had looked uo, the way it felt like he was looking at you, you pressed your lips together, locking your phone and dropping it beside you.
"No" you muttred to yourself, there was no point thinking about this, it didn't mean anything.
You were just a fan.
That was all you were.
And he..
You signer turning onto your side, pulling the blanket up slightly as if that would help settle the restless feeling sitting in your chest.
He probably didn't even remember the crowd.
Not individually atleast.
But even as you tried to fall asleep, for just a second it hadn't felt like nothing.

02. Eye Contact
The line outside the venue stretched farther than you expected.
It curved around the building, a slow moving wave of people dressed in black, red and worn band tees, it made you feel awkward you we're in a soft pink dress, it's summer and you didn't want to sweat alot. Every few seconds, someone would laugh loudly, call out to a friend or start talking about their favourite song and trying to guess which music the band was gonna play on set.
You stood there for a moment, taking it all in.
For weeks, this had just been an idea, a ticket confirmation sitting in your email, a date circled in your head, something distant, but now? now it was real.
You adjusted your grip on your phone, glancing down at the screen before looking back up again. The venue lights hadn't turned on yet but the sky was already beginning to dim, the soft blue of evening slowly giving way to something darker.
People we're still arriving, still talking like this was the most important place they could be tonight.
Your friend, Cipher, nudged you.
"Still processing?" she asked giggling.
You let out a small breath, almost a laugh. "A little"
That was an obvious understatement, you had imagined this moment so many times over the past few days, standing outside, waiting to get in, hearing the faint sounds of soundcheck through the walls if you payed enough attention.
But being there felt so much different, it felt real.
Slowly at first, then a little faster as security started letting people in, the crowd shifted forward, the energy changing almost immediately as people realized they were actually about to go inside, step by step, until you finally went inside.
The inside of the venue felt very different, darker, cooler and louder, music played faintly through the speakers while people spread out across the place, some rushing towards the front, other stopping near the merch stands trying to grab something before the show started.
You barely had time to take it all in before Cipher grabbed your arm.
"Come on! i can get us close enough!" she said, already pulling you with her.
You hardly had any time to react, the closer you got to the stage, the more packed it became, people pressed shoulder to shoulder, conversation blending into noise, the low antecipation in the room building with every passing second.
By the time you finally stopped moving, you were closer than you expected, not right at the barricade but close enough, close enough to see the stage clearly, to feel like this wasn't just a distant dream anymore.
Your heart started beating a little faster.
The lights dimmer without warning, a wave of noise spread through the crowd instantly, loud enough to make your chest vibrate, people started cheering, some shouting, others pushing forward just slightly as if getting closer would somehow matter.
Well maybe it did, you looked up at the stage you breath catching slightly as the first lights flickered on.
Red.
Of course.
It wasn't subtle the color washed over the entire stage, sharp and intense, casting long shadows and turning everything into silhouettes for just a moment, figures moved into place, barely visible at first, their outlines blurred by the lightning.
The crowd surged forwards, some screaming over the change of lightning, some screaming over the 2 figures moving into the stage.
Then the first note hit.
It cut through the noise instantly, loud and clean, vibrating through the floor and straight into your chest, the reaction was immediate. The crowd erupted, voice rising, hands lifting, the sound overwhelming in the best way possible.
You barely registered what was going on.
Your attention was on the stage, on them....specifically on him.
Mydei stood slightly off to the side, guitar slung low against him, his posture relaxed in a way that didn't feel careless just very natural, like this was where he belonged, The red lightning made it diffiult to make out the details clearly, you we're able to cath a glimpse of his blonde with red tips during the chaos, he stood out anyway, Phainon was easy to spot with his fluffy white hair.
Mydei didn't move much, neither did he interact with the crowd the way Phainon did, while the rest of the band fed off the energy around them, Mydei seemed to exist outside of it, completly absorbed in the sound, rhythm and movement.
You found yourself watching him, at first, it was curiosity, then it became something else.
Your attention kept dreafting back to him, even when you tried to focus on the rest of the performance, something about the way he carried himself made it hard to look away, he was a treat to look at, biceps and hair sweaty, fingers moving alongside the guitar.
The set continued, song after song, time moved just right, the lights shifted, the crowd grew louder, the energy in the room always big and radiant.
Everything happened so quickly you almost missed it, Mydei lifted his head, just a little, not enough to be noticeable to most people, just enough.
For a moment your eyes met his, yellowish eyes looking at you, he smirked before looking away.
Damn...there was no way, there was to many people, too much distance, too many lights flooding the stage and the crowd alike, it was probably the lights making him look funny.
Just a concidence, just an angle, the lights clearly playing tricks on you.
You forced yourself to focus on something else, the music, lyrics, the other band members.
But it didn't last long, by the time your eyes drifted back to him, the man was already looking in your direction.
The moment lasted longer than before, your breath hitched slightly, your thought trying to catch up to what you were witnessing.
There was absolutely no reason why he would be looking at you.
You were just a face in a crowd, one in a thousand, easily missed and forgotten.
And yet...
You didn't look away this time, your gaze stayed fixed on him, caught in that strange, uncertain moment where nothing made sense but you couldn't bring yourself to break it.
Just as quickly as it had happened, he looked away, the music didn't stop and most around you didn't even notice the moment between you two.
Even if you tried to tell yourself it wasn't real, your heart didn't quite settle with that and no matter how much you tried to ignore it, you kept looking back, in hope of meeting those same yellow eyes from before.

01. Sold out
You put your phone back on the table, looking back as the timer dropped below a minute.
00:00:59
You straightened slightly in your chair, eyes locked on the screen, your laptop hummed quietly beneath your hands while the ticket page remained frozen in place, the large countdown ticking down second by second.
You refreshed the page once, then again, just to be safe.
You we're always so anxious about these events millions of fans and limited seats.
Your stomach twisted slightly as you glanced at the same small warning message about high demand underneath the timer.
You already knew how this usually went, still, you leaned forward slightly, resting your elbows on the desk
00:00:25
Your phone buzzed again, the groupchat was probably losing their minds by now, you could already imagine it was Cipher yelling in all caps about not surviving this, Hyacine claiming Ica almost opened 5 new tabs just by sitting on her laptop by accident, you glanced at your phone.
you were right, it was pure chaos, you muted the chat, you needed to focus.
00:00:17
Your eyes returned to the countdown, your hands rested lightly on the tracpad now, ready to refresh the page the moment the timer reached zero. You had no idea if refreshing actually helped in situations like this, but it felt better than sitting there staring at your screen.
the timer reached closer to zero, your heart started beating faster, ridiculous it was just a concert and yet it felt like the most important ten seconds of your day
00:00:02
"Oh my god this is torture"
00:00:01
the time hit zero, the page refreshed automatically, for a moment nothing happened, the loading symbol spun slowly in the corned of the screen while the rest of the page remained blank, you started waiting at it barely breathing waiting for the site to finally respond.
When the site came to life, a new message appeared.
You are currently in queue - Estimated wait time: more than an hour
"Ok what the fuck....an hour?"
You leaned back in your chair, staring at the progress bar that appeared beneath the message, you opened twitter most people complaining how they are gonna lose tickets and that the website should move faster.
Every once in a while the line shifted forward slightly, just enough to give you hope before stopping again.
You leaned back in your chair, rubbing your face, you should have expected this.
Crimson Static had millions of fans, The Red Line Tour had practically taken over the internet ever since it had been announced, not to mentioned it was the most awaited album to be played live.
Of course tickets would disappear instantly.
Still you couldn't lose hope.
Eventually the screen refreshed again, your heart jumped when the seating map finally appeared, rows of seats filled the screen, sections lighting up in blue to show what was still available.
You moved the cursor immeadiately, clicking the first section you saw, the page loaded, you held your breath, then another message in red appeared.
These tickets are no longer available
You blinked, tried another section, gone, another? also gone.
The seats disappeared faster than you could click them, every time you selected a new spot, the system took just long enough to proecess the request for someone else to grab the ticket first.
The seating map slowly changed color, blue turned gray, section by section.
Until there was nothing left.
This event is sold out
Just like that, you stared at the screen in diisbelief, all of that waiting, all of the stress gone in minutes, you leaned forward slowly, resting your forehead against the desk.
Maybe it has been unrealistic to think you would get through in time, millions of fans, limited seats, it made sense, your phone buzzed,

00. Fan
Most people liked to say Crimson Static appeared out of nowhere.
Well it was the version of the story that spread the easiest online. Fans loved the idea of a band suddenly exploding overnight, a viral clip, a song that just so happened to go viral and suddenly millions of listeners following them.
But the truth couldn't be further from that, Crimson Static has been around for years.
Long before the sold-out tours, they were just a small group practicing in a garage with barely enough room for their equipment. The amps were old, the microphones were cheap and the soundproofing was nonexistent, it's safe to say their neighbors probably hated them.
The band's earliest recordings were messy videos posted online without much thought behind them, a few songs recorded late at night, posted to music platform with the small hope that someone might listen.
At first, only a handful of people did.
But then a few hundred listeners turned into a few thousands.
Small gigs in local venues slowly filled up.
Clips of their performances started circulating online.
Their debut album built a small but loyal following, The second album was the one that pushed them further, the songs kept spreading online faster, venues got way bigger and suddendly Crimson static wasn't just a band performing at the leader's garage, they got into a company and started performing all over the world.
Then came the third album.
Red Line.
If the other two albums didnt boost their audience? this one surely did.
Millions of listeners, Tours being scheduled and a fanbase so large it was hard to keep track.
But at the center of it all stood the guitarist people talked the most.
Mydei
Even through a screen, he was hard to ignore, concert clips of him were everywhere online, shaky videos captured by fans in concerts, red stage lights washed over the stage nearly every clip.
Most of the times, Mydei rarely spoke to the crowd, oh and barely smiled too.
He simply stood there with his guitar slung low against him, fingers moving across the strings like the rest of the world didn't exist.
Fans loved to interpret what that meant, some said he looked mysterious, intense or to focused on his work to care about the outside world.
You never paid much attention to that part, you didn't even discover the band that way.
There were no viral edits involved or dramatic introductions.
All it took was a random song playlist on spotify.
Your room was dim except for the light from your desk lamp, casting a warm circle across the cluttered surface of your desk. A document filled with half-written notes glowed on your laptop screen, silently reminding you that you should probably be studying, you had been trying to focus for nearly an hour.
Trying being the important word.
Music played softly from your computer speakers, some random playlist you left running in the background, Most of the songs blended together after some time, turning into a stream of noise that barely registered in your mind anymore, well that was until a unfamiliar guitar sound cut sharply through the quiet of the room.
You leaned back slightly against the chair, listening more carefully, the instruments crashed together in a way that felt chaotic but intentional, the kind of sound impossible to ignore, for the first time that night you stopped pretending to study.
By the time the song ended, you reached over and replayed it again.
Now playing: White noise - Crimson Static
The band name caught your attention immediately, you clicked on their page out of curiosity, the profile loaded with more songs than you expected, three albums sat neatly listed under their discography, each one with thousands or even millions of streams.
You didn't recognize any of the song titles, still something about their aesthedic made you stay, you told yourself you would listen to just one more song....then another....then another.
yeah you're doomed...
That was the first night you really listened to them, after that their music slipped quietly into your routine.
Morning walks, study sessions, cleaning days, driving or any part of your day.
Eventually, you started recognizing the band members.
Phainon, he was the drummer, he had a very hypnotizing voice, steady and calm behind the music.
And then there was Mydei, the leader, main singer and guitarist, even through the screen it was difficult to look away, the first clip you saw of him was in one of those small events they hosted sometimes, the videos shaky with people trying to catch a glimpse of him, Mydei never looked at the cameras, his focus remained on his guitar, like the rest of the room never existed.
You watched the clip twice before scrolling past it, overtime the band started appearing on your fyp more often.
Fan edits, concert clips, interviews or those silly challenges.
So when your phone buzzed one evening with a new notification from the bands account, you didn't think much about it, you unlocked your phone absentmindedly, glancing down at the screen.
Your eyes moved slowly down the lists of cities printed on the poster, Halfway through they stopped, you almost jumped off your chair as your city sat right in the middle of the list, for a moment, you wondered if you had read it wrong, you checked it again.....
no.
it was definitely there.
A strange feeling settled in your chest as you stared at the screen, ok...
it wasn't anything serious, just excitement, maybe...
after all, it was just a concert.
From the band you happened to like.
and you were just a fan.
Still...
"Yup time to pull the wallet out...."
The next morning, at exactly 1:59pm, you would be sitting infront of your laptop refreshing the ticket page like your life depended on it.
You glare at the countdown
TICKET SALES OPEN IN 1 MINUTE.
