I looked this up because I had to know what it’s from. It’s a film called The Gay Deceivers (1969), and it’s about two straight men who, seeking to avoid the draft, claim to be gay, but then have to keep up the pretense when the army places them under surveillance.

The man in the red cardigan in the clip was played by Michael Greer, who was openly gay himself - unusual for the time. He actually worked closely with the director and rewrote much of the film’s dialogue to reduce the homophobia and make it more realistic. As a result it’s quite progressive for its time, having a gay character, played by a gay man, living in a happy same-sex relationship, which is more than a lot of media offers us today.

Plus the clip is delightful.

Used to find listening back to my voice really cringey, now I find it fine but I do notice what an odd amalgamation my accent is. Like my base accent is Generic Southern English but I occasionally briefly slip into Cornish (I have been living in Cornwall since I was 8 after all) or Posh Southern English because I went to private school for 7 years. I've had other people tell me my (urban) Hampshire accent comes out really strongly in certain phrases as well but I can't hear it because Hampshire accent sounds like Normal Speech to me - I say my base accent is Generic Southern English because I don't know how strongly it sounds like Hampshire in particular.

You are so right!! The books - it’s just so telling! Even apart from the dark-magic-themed ones - by @mochacoffee and mine combined count there are at least 9 books by G. K. Chesterton included in the lockdown video plus the biography of Chesterton by Barker. Well that’s a bit unbalanced given all the available books in the bookshop - but the Good Omens book starts with “The authors would like to join the demon Crowley in dedicating this book to the memory of G. K. CHESTERTON” - so, even without diving into the themes of Chesterton’s writing, at the very least Aziraphale decided to read and/or surround himself with the bibliography of Crowley’s favored author. And if that’s not Aziraphale’s love language, then I don’t know what is 😏
