Julie and Luke meet by chance when they’re 15 and 17 and share one magical day together that leads to years of phone calls and letters supporting each other as much as they can from opposite sides of the country with the hope of getting to see each other again one day.

This is literally me as a kid. Dad used to have the responsibility of giving out the well reports that came in on the friday night to anyone who phoned for the rest of the weekend. The problem was, on saturday mornings, he was doing the food shopping, so I was given a list of approved callers and he’d leave the well report figures by the phone.
Theoretically I was just supposed to list off the numbers. Except. Very early I started parsing the figures and give my own analysis. Apparently engineers and geophysicists got a bit freaked out by a ten year old going ‘It’s not that good, the flow’s really slow compared to last week, and there’s gas pockets really screwing up the flow in the east pipe judging by the pressure report.’
Dad still got that yelled at him at conferences: ‘This is the fucker who used child labour to do well analysis!’
‘Was it wrong?’
‘That’s the not the point!’
We found him- the 20 year old with 10 years experience

Hi, these bees are babies! They’re not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human

Fanfic or Original? Title?
Currently working on a fanfic, though I have had An Original Idea recently but there's not really enough to put here (I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS?!?!?? ORIGINAL IDEAS??? ME??)
Title: working title "sleepover au"; actual title TBD! -- based on the 2004 'cult classic', you guessed it, "Sleepover" with Alexa PenaVega, Miss Spy Kid herself!

"God this is so stupid! What were your parents thinking making you move before your senior year of high school?!"
"The military doesn't leave a lot of room for thinking about things. When Uncle Sam says "jump", you say--" "How high," Julie sighs. "This just really sucks. How am I supposed to do senior year without you?"

"Yeah, but then your mom got sick. There was never very good timing for me to ask you out."
"How's your timing these days?"
His face lights up. "Are you suggesting I ask you out now?"
