     such an occasion as this, a fashion show, is not quite to his tastes, but every few years he bothers to travel away from his nest in maryland to acquiesce their kindly invitation. hannibal does eventually makes it away from the crowd to the outer edges of the room and proceeds to contentedly sip at his drink and people watch.

     hannibal’s initial statement to dr. crane is a bland one. he knows that he is unwelcome within the confines of the others office. that’s why he makes a point of keeping to himself, standing towards the middle of the cramped room, arms folded. blaney, as well as a few other psych professors employed at gotham university, had described jonathan crane using two words; egotistical braggart. he supposes he can see it... an underlying, jutting confidence.
