I feel like at least for me it’s part of the parasocial relationship with dnp? Like I project my money worries on them and it gets worse every time they say something about the tours costing so much, the sets costing so much, doing so many sponsorships. I’m not saying they do that on purpose but it’s weird stepping back and realizing how much money they have

yes you’re correct they said they lost money on tatinof UK! and they also mentioned they lost money on going to the Philippines for ii. what I’m referencing though is that some phannies extrapolate and then claim that d&p lose money overall going on tour and end with less money than they started with which is not the case and not something d&p ever claimed. like even when phil was talking about paying out of pocket for tatinof UK he said in the next sentence they recouped their money on the other legs but some people pretend he didn’t say this 😭 so imo it is phannies who came up with the notion that d&p lose money on tours and are only doing it for the love of the game bc d&p never said anything close to that abt their joint tours

wad yes dan made a comment while on stage and tbh it’s true it didn’t sell well but he did still make a profit (whether or not the profit was sufficient compensation for dan’s time is another convo). however a) jokes made on stage need to be taken with a grain of salt, like the joke was that he was gonna have to move back in with his parents which we know isn’t true 💀 b) he was specifically talking about wad and again people extrapolated that and tried to apply it to everything. wad was a completely different situation than any of d&p’s other tours (only dan, he had been gone from the internet, it was doing covid) so I still put it on the phannies for seeing that and then applying it to the joint tours despite it not being the same thing and d&p never claiming it was the same thing. hopefully that makes sense 😭😭

I don’t think many people realize that dnp are rich. Not like old money wealthy or huge celebs rich, but smaller celeb rich, yes. They’re millionaires. They seem to live a pretty modest lifestyle for millionaires yes, and I bet they save and invest well. They will be fine if some people pirate their patreon. I doubt they care that much.
