Setting out writing goals for the new year, so I plugged all my pairings into Wheel of Names. This was supposed to give me a pairing to focus on for a minimum 1k oneshot each month. Fast forward to having spun the wheel 12 times, resulting in a) mostly side characters, b) no incest*, and c) Vitanessa, which might just take the cake in regards to side characters, as I couldn't even pick a song for them.
*I did land on both Ashlako (July) and Ashluki (November) which could be argued to be somewhat pseudo-incestuous, as they both involve one half of the pair (Ashley, in both scenarios) shapeshifting into the forms of his other partner (Itsuki for Mako, Mako for Itsuki) as a means of vicarious fulfilment for their incestuous desires. On the other hand, neither of Ashley's aforementioned partners are with him exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling their fantasy - both love him as he is in his actual form, not just in the shapeshifted forms. Feel free to discuss whether or not Ashluki and Ashlako count as pseudo incest.
Ironically enough, I didn't actually get Gearshift (Itsuki x Mako, which is undoubtedly proper incest), and I'm mildly miffed about that.
Twenty-Fourth Day of Gift-Giving
Twenty-Four Touches
Softly getting hold of the other’s hand, afraid to make a mistake
A casual touch on the shoulder to acknowledge them
Foreheads pressed together, a silent way to say “I’m here”
A gentle hand holding the other’s neck while staring into their eyes
Whispering, lips almost touching the ear
A quick brush of hands, almost unnoticeable
Tracing the other’s lips with their finger
An arm sneaking around a waist, holding them close
Pressing their face into the other’s neck, hiding from the world
A hand in the other’s hair, not quite grabbing it
Sighing into the kiss, melting together at last
A swift kiss to the other’s cheek
Brushing away an unruly lock of hair
A firm handshake, professionally at first, but a second to long
Gently kissing the other’s knuckles
A tender hug, just staying together for a while
Hands rubbing together to warm them up
A firm hand grabbing the other’s elbow to guide them
Feeling for the other’s pules with their lips
A quick kiss on the crown of their hair
Sitting on the other’s lap, being hugged from behind
A slow dance, entangled with each other
Cold feet warming each other up under the blanket
A gentle kiss on the forehead, a sweet goodbye
24 Days of Gift-Giving
After five long years have passed since he faked his own death, Itsuki sees his son again.
Now going by the moniker of Diamond Illusion, Mako is a force to be reckoned with, standing upon a stage before thousands of adoring fans. A strikingly stunning force, if Itsuki is honest.
Though Mako has concealed his face (and with it, his identity) beneath Itsuki's mask, Itsuki knew exactly who he was from the moment he set eyes on him. He truly is beautiful. At this point in time, though, Itsuki is afraid. He stands in the throng of people surrounding Mako, and merely looks back at him.
changing plot elements and characterisation a little so we can get more consanguinamory lads
That feeling of accomplishment when you finally finish writing the chapter that got you blocked for weeks...
Just to be immediately knocked down by the next chapter's blank page
sometimes you need dialogue tags and don't want to use the same four
Reblogging because I needed this
In other news, I do not remember writing this. I must have been rather tired.
woah just wrote approximately a thousand words about Itsuki in the dead of night :) we might actually kick writer's block in the arse at long last
I wrote more!

me as a writer
just putting it out there, but-
you don't need "a whole story around it" for it to be a work of art
[ID: a simple cartoony drawing of a horse. There's a small section with highly detailed realistic rendering of a horse, labeled: the one specific scene I came up with. The line drawing around it is labeled, building a whole story around it.
next image is a photo of an interior wall decorated with different greyscale photos and a plant. One of the frames has the section of the fully rendered horse. /end]

that moment when all your irls are antis and they're going to have aneurysms if and when they discover what you actually write (think about writing) and read
one of the main AUs I've been thinking about lately is the android AU, wherein Mako (the son) dies instead of Itsuki (the father) and as a result, Itsuki makes an android in Mako's image and immediately divorces his own wife in favour of having relations with the Makodroid, because he is a perfectly normal man with mechanical engineering skills.
