(tho I will say my reasoning is probably an outlier? For some reason Tumblr is an inside thoughts place so I don't generally bother sharing outside a very rare subject matter expert opinion or compliments to an artist)

Def agree. it felt easier when I was younger (2016-19ish?), maybe that’s just because of the changes with the site- or maybe just b/c older. But I just remember running a blog about the same size but it was about fish and I got strangers in my DMs and ask box all the time telling me about like- their new shrimps or snails or w/e
