What’s the in universe explanation for villagers having/being expected to cover their hands?

In the book, MC Dungeons: Rise of the Arch Illager, it is explained like this:

In my AU, it's rooted in this but has become more of a courtesy/respect thing. And it doesn't actually have to be fully covered, just kept together, clasped.

Hands are what you work with, they are action. Keep them together when you're not working as a show of respect, pacifism, passivity.

Evokers and some Vindicators also keep their hands together but it has nothing to do with lack of aggression as I'm sure is obvious. For Evokers, it's secrecy. For Vindicators, it's like a salute.

Pillagers are mere foot soldiers sent away from the Mansion so they're not taught or expected to show these kinds of respects.

there are so so so many cool effects in your art that i would love to try and learn how to make but this effect in particular is smth i really like ...

also. what software do you use? asking because i use krita, and maybe the way you get this effect is different in krita. tho you don't have to explain how to do your stuff in krita obviously; just explain how you do it in your software, and i'll see how much of it i can do in krita. 👍👍

uh first off i use ibispaintx but i have used krita before so idk anyway

your gonna first off need a noise layer, blur it, duplicate the layer, on the second layer use an airbrush or a blurred brush and draw whatever ya like, then take both layers, set their saturation to 0 (if theres color) and contrast to max and then set the upper layer to "difference"
