God this guy was stubborn. Tanjiro didn’t want to truly hurt him, but at this rate it looked as though he would have to. There was no way that the boy was backing down until he got a proper fight. Unless…
Maybe there was a way to get him to stop trying to fight. Tanjiro just needed to distract him enough to calm him down before he hurt himself or someone else. Obviously talking wouldn’t do any good, but maybe there was another way.
Before the boy had a chance to fully recover from the blow, Tanjiro quickly ran behind him and knocked him to the ground. Once down, Tanjiro grabbed his arms and held them tight against his back. Honestly, it’s a good thing that Tanjiro had been training because he doubted he would be able to hold this position for any length of time otherwise given how rowdy the boy was. He just hoped that this would work.
“Will you calm down and listen to me?”
Inosuke was just about to charge this guy again, but before he could begin the next round of his assault, the kid dashed behind him and suddenly Inosuke was on the ground, breath knocked from his chest. His arms were just as quickly pinned behind him, and Inosuke started yelling in anger.
“Gaaah! Let me go!” he shouted, thrashing wildly beneath his opponent. “I can beat you! Let me go and I’ll prove it!” Inosuke was putting all of his energy into trying to knock this guy off of his back, but he certainly wasn’t getting anywhere.
He continued to squirm viciously and flail as much as he could for a few minutes before he was beginning to feel the effects of this on his muscles, and finally, with a heavy sigh, he went limp.
“....” While he had calmed down, he was still bristling with fury, his pride severely wounded.
