Friend Not Foe
This guy mustâve been pretty attentive if he was able to block Inosukeâs strike. On top of that, he moved out of Inosukeâs range, and even Inosuke had to admit that the boy moved quickly. But did he move as quickly as Inosuke did?
The boy closed his eyes and Inosuke thought about how stupid something like that was. âEyes on me!â Inosuke shouted, but regardless of his warning, he lowered himself to the ground and began to charge forward, not giving nearly enough time for any normal person to consider the cry.
But it turns out this opponent wasnât just a normal person.
The kidâs blade came directly for Inosukeâs stomach, and it landed. Luckily for Inosuke, the swordâs blade missed his flesh and instead the hilt smashed into his abdomen with such force that it knocked the wind out of him and sent him stumbling back, effectively stopping Inosukeâs attack. But with such force and precision, thereâs no way that the blade missed him by accident.
âAre you holding back on meâŠ?â Inosuke asked, regaining his footing and glaring at the kid.
God this guy was stubborn. Tanjiro didnât want to truly hurt him, but at this rate it looked as though he would have to. There was no way that the boy was backing down until he got a proper fight. Unless...
Maybe there was a way to get him to stop trying to fight. Tanjiro just needed to distract him enough to calm him down before he hurt himself or someone else. Obviously talking wouldnât do any good, but maybe there was another way.
Before the boy had a chance to fully recover from the blow, Tanjiro quickly ran behind him and knocked him to the ground. Once down, Tanjiro grabbed his arms and held them tight against his back. Honestly, itâs a good thing that Tanjiro had been training because he doubted he would be able to hold this position for any length of time otherwise given how rowdy the boy was. He just hoped that this would work.
âWill you calm down and listen to me?âÂ
