If something is obviously "too big for the letterbox" for the second redelivery in a row, how about trying the classic tried and true method of "knocking on the door and giving it to me"?

I had a dream I was in a video game setting and one of the NPCs tried to kill me for messing up what was basically a stealth quest and I fought him down to low health where the dialogue options open back up and got all knowingly cocky with him and said, "you know what this is." (Referring to the game controller in my hand that included a quick load button to my last save.)

"I don't know what happens to you, or this version of me. I don't know if I just disappear, or maybe you'll be stuck here with a shell of me, either way, this current conscious stream of mine won't be here. See you again, (NPC name I've forgotten now), or I won't." I hit the button then woke up.
