life is nothing without eroticism and whimsy
Anybody else have no idea how their personality is perceived by others? Like am I nice? Am I mean? I have no idea.
When people tell me stuff about me I literally think about it nonstop for 3-5 business days.
A coworker casually said “everyone else likes you” (because one coworker was mad at me) and I was for real like ????everyone likes me??????
robby is a jewish white man. the jewish doesn't negate his whiteness or the fact that he's a man. he benefits from both of those things. it's not bad to discuss that or acknowledge that, not at all, it's true. this is a white guy in his 50s he's gonna have white guy in his 50s coded flaws.
acting like this is his only identity is where y'all lose me. acting like he isn't rep for anybody. acting like he's never faced discrimination due to his ethnicity. just michael robinavitch = white man with zero nuance.
even though robby is white passing, he doesn't try to hide his jewishness. people will see his magen david or hear "robinavitch" and classify him as "other." we see a similar situation in the same show with a different character— nazely toomarian. she is armenian, but white passing— it's when she speaks in her native language that she's classed as "other" by monica.
like guys there has to be a middle ground. acknowledging yes, robby benefits from being generally perceived as a white male. but why are the two options "devil from the bible" (yikes) or "he's never done anything wrong ever" (...?) like how about he's a fully fleshed out character with biases and flaws, he's a fallible human, he's experienced both privilege and discrimination.
you can dislike him without condemning him to hell, (which again. yikes.) and you can like him and still acknowledge his flaws. I defend him cause I like him and what mostly gets me is an overinflation of all of his actions, but I've never acted like the guy isn't flawed and biased lmfao. he's got issues. he's got privilege. he's very interesting 2 me
you guys have no idea how much I'm physically laughing over the fact that there are far too many people on here that have mass hallucinated the idea that noah wyle is the devil incarnate (and we can talk abt the antisemitism if you want...), and claim that he clearly hates every woman and they all hate him and they're SO stupidly sure of this (their evidence is nothing)... just to have one of the actresses they claim he's mistreated and hates say that she loves working with him and that they get along very well.
which, funnily enough, is the EXACT same thing every other female coworker of his has said. dearden, ganesh, briones, azeez... all of them. like I'm almost embarrased on behalf of these people who spread random hate. like congrats. the actors themselves think ur crazy.
I don't ride or die for actors- I don't know them. but at least I base my opinions off of facts, like what their coworkers ACTUALLY say about them...
literally don’t talk to me
I just. I feel like you can't have tunnel vision in watching this show. if you put robby in the vacuum of his relationship with samira, and only that, he seems like a worse person than he is. zoom out.
out of the med students, who did he like the most this season? it's pretty obvious the ranking was 1. victoria 2. joy 3. ogilvie. do the nurses feel comfortable around him? absolutely, he has a great last scene with donnie where he's understanding and sent him home to take care of his wife and kid, dana is one of his best friends and they make each other laugh no matter how much they fight, princess and perlah joke about him and with him and appear very comfortable with him.
he checks in on mel, throughout the season, he tries to support her. he pushes trinity to see the trauma counselor twice, advocates for her to baran, and they clearly are very comfortable around each other, joking around. he clearly cares about victoria, and very much believes in her, giving her an opportunity to do a cool procedure in front of her mom, urging her to not pass another opportunity up with the brain surgery stuff, fixing things after he got onto her. and while he got onto her, she was very comfortable standing up and talking back, which is notable.
in s1, he has a couple rocky moments with Heather, but overall, their relationship is great. they constantly check in on each other, asking if they're okay. he took over the abortion case for her when she raised concerns. he sent her home early when he found out about her miscarriage, urged her to rest, comforts her. there's trust there.
he listened to trinity over langdon, believes her and takes action, more than anybody else did that day. he praises her, and already likes her, again, more than anybody else did that day, where samira, frank, and even heather were all riding her. he never did that.
even the storyline with cassie gets overinflated, and you can see him trying to listen to her. she tells him that Theresa needs therapy, and he's kind of a dick to her face, but immediately after he goes and gets theresa an appointment with a psychologist upstairs. and his admittance that he was wrong, that he "did not think enough about those girls" was genuine. his later backslide, his "your mess. fix it." is not born out of "this is all your fault" but "I can't do this right now." the apology happened before pittfest, the backslide happened after. and again, such an important moment between them was Cassie telling Victoria she "learned from the best" and looking over at him.
there are seeeveral moments throughout the show where we get glimpses into what he's usually like, and better relationships. he's generally liked, generally trusted, his staff generally feel good around him and respect him. when people call for his help, he comes running. even the good moments he has with samira are erased, standing up for her against the drug-seeking patient, praising her during pittfest, backing her up to garcia. no, I don't think robby is a good boss to samira. I do think he tried to be.
and yk I do feel like it's noteworthy, the person Robby idolizes, looks up to the most, is/was Adamson. a black man.
Robby has biases, Robby needs to work on these biases, he also needs to become aware of them first. I'm not saying he doesn't have his issues, he has a fuck ton. thank god the pitt gets baran for at least a few months. but zoom out a little. so much conflict is overinflated because it's completely lacking of any context.
baking, or at least trying to🌈🍪💕
they deserve so much and they steal the show for me
can we PLEASE get this guy covered in blood again
At least i dont vape
"The sex tells the story, so it never felt gratuitous to me. The sex is character development. The sex is what is moving this relationship forward, and watching it change over time."
Jacob Tierney on It's Open With Ilana Glazer
listen I know the running bit is "trinity santos peds calls to you..." but I'm actually such a huge fan of the fact that trinity is not shown to particularly like kids. she's understandably irritated by baby jane doe's crying, (doesn't she even make a comment about how "this is why I didn't go into peds.." or am I hallucinating that lol) and she makes a couple other (funny) comments that give the impression she would rather be doing anything else.
I think what's beautiful about trinity santos + kids in s2 is that she is so kind and good to them despite not having a particular enjoyment of them. softening herself when she talks to Kylie, going the distance to make sure she's safe. singing a lullaby to BJD. comforting the boy who got his fingers blown off, gentle, soothing. trying to fight against an impossibly broken system to find some other way for the boy to have both his parents and his sister at the same time, to have a chance at a better life despite the hopelessness of it.
trinity santos is kind to children and that does not make her a mother. that does not make her a peds doctor. it doesn't make her find some particular love for them. and I fucking love that interpretation way more, because so many times, media will center women around children as if it's their "calling". they motherify so many female characters. they didn't twist trinity into a motherly character she doesn't embody.
the fact that she's good to children is because she's just a good fucking person. and because inside her is a child who was taken advantage of and hurt very badly, so children are probably easier to empathize with. she relates specifically to feeling so much pain whilst being young and scared and confused. and most children have an innocence that does break down barriers and shells. trinity adapts to that communication style. you have to match a child's innocence.
anyways I thought her arc was rich and in character. she's quick thinking and adaptable, she likes the rush of traumas, "strong patient advocate", etc etc... her character isn't suited for peds. it's suited for the ER. she just has a good fucking heart. idk if I explained this very well but it was soo important to me as someone who doesn't particularly "like" kids but will always always be sweet to them because. they're just kids.
Yes! I hate when they force a woman character who doesn't want to be a mother or is not motherly, to be a mom just because they are kind to kids (because they are kids!). Yes, I love it when Trinity interacts with kids. Do I want her to go into peds? No. I agree her character is much better suited in the er.
#I will always love you, Trinity Santos 🫡
To all the Noah Wyle haters, I’d like to present you with this gem.
The Red Line (2019)
Noah plays a GAY man with a BLACK HUSBAND and a bi-racial daughter. His husband is killed by a WHITE COP. When he does move forward romantically, it’s with a MUSLIM love interest.
This man has always been 2 steps ahead in terms of the political and social. Is he perfect? No. He’s human. But I don’t think he’s the villain some of you are trying to paint him.
This is an amazing mini-series. It’s well written, brilliantly acted, and absolutely unflinching in how it addresses topics like police brutality, racism, homophobia, grief, and found family.
Also, Noah is amazing in this role.
genuinely the fandom fucking etiquette in this fandom is really starting to get under my skin every fucking day I block at least 2-3 people hating on robby using EVERY ROBBY TAG THEY CAN FUCKING FIND. I have anti robby tags blocked and it DOESNT EVEN MATTER. because NO ONE uses the anti tags. genuinely I do not fucking care if you hate robby but you're a fucking shithead for using like three seperate character tags for your hate post genuinely fuck off
that’s the last thing i’m gonna say about this BUT i feel like it needs to be said.
creating and feeding rumors about cast members with zero evidence is never harmless. if anything, it damages the environment they work in and the relationships between them. these people spend 8–9 months a year working together. you do not know them personally and constantly projecting narratives onto them can create tension that may have never existed in the first place.
no actor should have to publicly clear up rumors about alleged “beef” with a coworker because people online decided to run with assumptions.
it’s embarrassing, harmful, and it completely takes the focus away from what actually matters: their work and their craft.
do better.
this pride month we’re all going to be radically pro transgender. or else.
hey so this means radically pro ALL transgender. don’t put limitations on this. all trans people are radically accepted here.
