Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.

When I was a kid, my classmates would make jokes like "what are you reading, the Bible?" When I carried around the Lord of the Rings, but it's kinda amazing that someone would be this shocked at a child reading 300 pages in the year 2026, since some of the Harry Potter books in the series are over 700-1000 pages long.

Granted that reading 100 pages of HP is equivalent to reading 10 pages of the Hobbit. Granted that a lot of HP fans are adults who would never pick up a book written for adults. But those books are absolutely for children.
