I can’t believe that the very first action taken in the very first force bond scene in TLJ is Rey trying to shoot Ben and failing.

It literally told the audience right off the bat that both Ben and Rey would not physically harm each other moving on (especially on Rey’s side because she’s always been the first to attack). It was almost like a spoiler within the movie—foreshadowing how their relationship would progress.

All I’m saying is that it made no sense to revert Reylo’s relationship back to lightsaber fights against one another when the force bond literally forced them to grow beyond that point. They went from fighting each other, to not fighting and communicating, to fighting alongside one another—you don’t dismantle all of that progress to have them go back to square one.

Sure, I could let one fight slide in TROS, because it’d be symbolic of their hurt feelings and all that, but they clashed throughout the entire movie until the end for no good reason. Their relationship was built on communication and understanding and it’s like they totally forgot. Forever out of character.

idk if this is still an unpopular opinion: i hate jedi leia.

hate it. the acknowledgement that she’s force sensitive in ROTJ is perfect, and saving herself through the force in TLJ is more than enough for me. leia is definitively not a knightly priest. she’s a general and a politician and a queen. i love that she’s so secure in her personality and goals that this mystical power is peripheral to her. the idea that she puts everything (the new republic, her marriage, her child) to go down a “jedi path” instead and only stops bc of a bullshit vision she doesn’t even prevent is just garbage upon garbage
