“A gem…duplication potion?” Aquamarine stared at the other gem for a few moments before sighing. “If you had something like that…no wonder your little rebellion was so resilient,” the small gem admitted, frowning as she thought about it. “Wait…so when did you come back, then?”

“You are aware this ‘Steven’ offered himself to us, saying he was Rose Quartz, in order to protect his friends, yes? That could have been prevented were you around.”

people with breasts who don’t want to wear a bra aren’t doing anything wrong by going braless and quite frankly their boob situation is none of your business to begin with.

wearing a bra is a personal choice just like wearing any other garment of clothing is. no one is under any obligation to harness their breasts—they are not being “disrespectful” or anything else negative by not wearing a bra. you, however, are being disrespectful if you give people who prefer to go braless shit for doing so.

if you have an issue with it, stop looking at their chest and mind your own damn business. problem solved.

“You just…’came back’? Hm,” the small gem commented, frowning as she used her wings to lift herself up, slowly circling around the other gem, examining her.

“Then what of this ‘son’ of yours? A ‘Steven’, I believe he calls himself. He has your gem.”

❝ Then why did you leave all of this responsibility on me … When you couldn’t even have feeling’s ?? ❞

Tone slightly raised as he soon stared his mother down with slight anger in him. Ever since he was born, he’d been compared to her. Either in regards to leadership or in general. It had gotten to the point where Steven couldn’t justify his existences without holding anger towards his mother.

He may have never known her, but what he did know … Made him see her in a different light. With a hand clutching over his Gem his gaze met her’s once more. Tears lacing his eyes as he felt the waves of emotion’s go through him.

❝ It wasn’t fair … I’ve always wanted to know you, but when I find out the truth of you from those outside of the Gem’s && dad … I find myself wishing I hadn’t looked. ❞

It was then the tear’s fell. His gaze soon shifted as he wiped them away. He had to be stronger && listen to her, but it was hard.

❝ I just I don’t understand, mom. ❞

“I want you to understand Steven. I never wanted any of this for you. I just wanted you to be my son. To live a normal life and to grow up and make your own decisions. Learn how to ride a bike, go to school and go to your first dance. I just wanted you to be you.”

She bent down to his height and wiped the tears from his eyes. “Here’s the truth. I’m not some perfect goddess to look up to and aspire to be like and I’m not a ruthless killer who didn’t bat an eye about shattering someone. I did what I had to do to save this planet and my friends. Along the way I made a lot of mistakes and hurt a lot of people. Even the ones I cared about. I’m nothing to look up to. You’ve already proven to be a better leader than me in every way.”

As she explained … Steven knew he was frowning. Not at what she was saying, but because he was the one who had made everything complicated. Not that he hadn’t tried to accept what he had been raised to understand, but because the Gem he had inspired to be … Told him exactly what he didn’t want to hear. That he was better then her && she was not the one he should inspire to be.

It took him a bit to regain his composer, but he managed. Breathing in deep breaths as he soon met her gaze once more. The frown remained, but he didn’t feel anything negative, as he looked at her.

❝ I wish I could have heard that growing up … Maybe I’d not be so angry or scared, if I had. ❞

He didn’t move from her touch, but rather leaned into it. The comfort it brought was all he wanted, but he knew his emotions were crashing like waves. Without much of a need for an invitation … Steven hugged his mom. The tears returned && flowed down his cheek’s.

❝ I don’t want to blame you … I don’t want to feel this conflicted, but … I do && I needed to hear you tell me that … I’m good enough. ❞

She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. How on earth could he think such things about himself? She saw the world through his eyes. Saw what kind of person he was and the amazing things he did. “You’re more than good enough.”

She hugged him closer threading her fingers through his brown curls. Kissing the top of his head. “I knew from the moment I held you in my arms that you would be amazing. That you’d be a better person than I ever was. You could choose your own path. Away from my mess and have a life of your own. Things may have turned out different but I was still right. You’re kind and funny and so talented. You’re everything good. Better than I could ever hope to be. Stop worrying about being me and focus on being yourself. Being you is the greatest person you could ever hope to be.”

“I…ah…” she just stared in silence for a moment, trying to process this. Wasn’t that ‘Steven’ boy the one in possession of Rose Quartz’s gem? So what was she doing just…standing here? “Yes. Yes you can. You can start by telling me how you’re standing in front of me.”

“Um I just am? I was gone for nearly two decades but I just came back.” She wasn’t afraid of this homeworld gem. She seemed rather harmless. Nothing like the era one Aquamarines she knew during the war.
