Furthermore, Aegon asked Aemond to let him get a ship and run away from his wife and kids forever to avoid being king. We only see him became interested in Jaehaerys once he was his heir.

Also, Rhaenyra’s husband was gay and they had a mutual agreement they would try for children (which in the end didn’t work) but be allowed to have actual real lovers. Laenor accepted Rhaenyra’s children as his own. Viserys, the king, accepted them as his grandchildren. Corlys (up until S3e03 I guess) and Rhaenys accepted them as their grandchildren. Jace died helping Corlys against the triarchy.

Everyone is cool with Jon being a king when he was (or technically still is?) a bastard or Gendry but as soon as a woman wants her (technically) bastards to be her heirs it’s a problem.

Still not over that the thing that motivated Rhaenyra to act wasn’t Jace’s death but was hearing Daemon reaffirm that fucking prophecy and seeing Daenarys.

Why can’t Rhaenyra have motivations of her own? The only thing pushing her is other people telling her what to do and the stupid prophecy. Why can’t she have emotions other than sadness and frustration?

I’m flabbergasted at HotD, because I don’t understand what the motivation is for the characters. Like, I don’t get why they’re doing what they’re doing because it makes no sense.

Why does Daemon care about his dream/ vision of the girl with dragons (Daenerys). Why is it important? They have a dozen dragons just chilling there at the time so who is this random girl he dreamt of and why do her dragons matter?

Why was the Master of Laws trying to rape the dowager Queen? Whatever the time period, that would get his head lopped off for daring to do this against royalty.

Why is Alicent allowing the Black dragons and their riders to take the Red Keep without a fight? Why does she even want peace ? Her own grandson is beheaded, two of the black princes are dead, countless lives lost in the gullet, and by surrendering she puts ALL her allies at risk, even the low born servants who worked for the greens. Not very peace loving of her to let all of those people die, and they WILL because they will be executed for their green affiliation.

Why does Rhaenyra trust Alicent to keep her word and fly in with her dragons and no back up army ??? Leaving your dragons unattended to sashay inside the keep with just your uncle-husband is crazy.

It’s incredibly easy to write stories when you don’t think about the motivations or personality of your characters at all and just do whatever.
