Lucia staggered to her feet, using one hand to lean againstthe brick wall beside her for support. With the back of the other she wiped atrail of blood from her split lip and winced as her skin dragged across thecut.
“I don’t—did I—” She blinked at the wreckage of the buildingbefore her, her mind and body reeling. Her eyes drifted to the ground ather feet where her bow lay, looking so small and weak in the face of thedestruction.
No, she could not have done this.
A voice spoke, and her head snapped up too quickly, causingher vision to blur and her knees to shake, but somehow she managed to stay onher feet.
“What? What do you…”
He gaze fell again, though this time she ignored the bow. There,in her side, was a gash that ripped right through her hoodie and t-shirt and toreinto her abdomen. Crimson blood seeped from the wound, staining everything ittouched. In her shock, she hadn’t even realized it had happened, let along whatblow had caused it.
“Oh,” she mumbled, “That.”
Her eyes rolled back into her head, and she crumpled to theground.
